         <description><![CDATA[<div>Step 1: Fill a test-tube to about half full with water.<br>Step 2: Use a small spatula to pick up a small amount of salt and add it to the water in the test tube.<br>Step 3: Gently stir the mixture of salt and water with a glass rod for about 2 minutes. Observe carefully what happens to the salt.<br>Step 4: Observe and record weather any salt crystals settle to the bottom of the test tube. State weather the salt is soluble or insoluble in water.<br>Step 5: Shake the test tube and quickly hold it to the light. Look through the liquid in the test tube. Record weather the liquid is clear or cloudy.<br>Step 6: Fold a piece of filter paper into a cone shape by following the steps.<br>Step 7: Place the cone-shaped filter paper in the filter funnel.<br>Step 8: Pour the salt-water mixture from the test tube into the funnel. Observe whether there is any solid residue left on the filter paper. Record your observation in a table.</div>]]></description>
