On To Oregon is a good book but it has it's problems. To start off the book seems to have been based off of actual knowledge of the Oregon Trail but there are a few unrealistic depictions or events in the book. First off there's the fact that a group of small children, who's parents recently died, would be able to survive the Oregon Trail alone. Then there are smaller things like how a baby is able to survive in frigid climate in nothing but a blanket. These details don't take away from the experience of this great novel but are worth noting.
