Over forty million dollars worth of property damage was accumulated within this short span.          <description><![CDATA[<div>On the night of August 11, 1965, two white policemen brawl with a black motorist suspected of drinking and driving. Soon, a crowd of onlookers began to gather on where Avalon Boulevard and 116th Street to witness the arrest of what was believed to be a racially-inspired abuse by the police. This event then led to the protesting of many colored people, enraged by the discrimination inflicted by the authorities. The end result: 34 dead, 1,032 injured and about 4,000 arrested along with forty million dollars of property damage </div><div><br><br></div>]]></description>
