Henry's formal education was in his own words, 'very limited and imperfect'; he briefly attended Stoneleigh parish school and later joined the Birmingham Mechanics' Institute. Obliged as a boy to help in supporting the family, he worked as a road labourer and in a brickpit and rope-walk.

He died in Isle of Mull in Scotland (his home town), in the 1st of July, 1824.

In 1883, Mary became the secretary of the ladies division of Social Purity Society - fighting to improve the lives of women.

John Quick was born in 1852 in Cornwall England, then migrated to Victoria at the age of 2. He started his career at the age of ten and worked as a junior newspaper reporter. He graduated in the University of Melbourne and received a Doctorate of Law.

Achievements:

John Quick played a helpful role in Australia's federation. He had become interested in the Australian Federation Movement in the 1890s, he successfully persuaded the Australian Natives' Association to promote Federation. Quick attended a convention known as the Corowa Conference and there, they constructed a scheme for the election of national convention which would then be a referendum.
