I believe the author never truly reveals V's identity because V represents the whole of society. He doesn't have a "true identity", he represents society. At the end of the book, V's identity still isn't shown therefore it doesn't really matter. Evey takes over the role and puts on the mask showing anybody can be V, anybody can stand up against the government and I believe that is what V's character represents.

@Connor first off, by what do you mean "the truth". On the other hand, I think it's far too dangerous to expose these citizens to the truth. As readers, we were able to see how they reacted to the newly formed government. These citizens wouldn't even know what to do with the truth. Much like we, as U.S. citizens, wouldn't know what to do if the government admitted to us that they were lying.

@Abbey I feel like everyone's good could be some peoples evil and vice versa. There is never something that everyone thinks is good. This book makes it obvious because V thinking that killing people is for the better makes other people like Evey think it is an act of evil. It is all based on different perspectives.
