Eiffel Tower, Paris, France

This grand tower was made in 1889, named after and designed by Gustave Eiffel. The enormous tower is roughly a thousand feet tall and held the record for the world's tallest building until 1930. I visited this building on New Years Eve, 2009, as a young girl with my mother. It was late in the evening, the tower silhouetted by its own shadow, making it appear even more impressive. This building, although the elevator is closed after certain hours, is always sorrounded by an innumerable crowd.

The Dancing House, Czech Republic

This new building in Prague, despite being fairly new (1996), is really interesting to me. The highly whimsical architecture, namely its shape and anti-geometric structure defies societies norms of modern architecture. The building gave way to controversy as it can overshadow Prague's more famous buildings, and it does not fit in with the typical Baroque, Gothic, and art Nouveau styles in its city. The creative building is named The Dancing House because it resembles a pair of dancers
