My week 4 showed me the serious of the family mainly the grandad daughters all they rely on is his money and their trust fund and they did nothing with their life even though they all went to Harvard

Meg manages to get into the cell with her father while, Charles Wallace is still under taken by IT. They manage to get out but now they must follow "Charles to meet It. And find out that the thing controlling Charles isn't Human.

this Week 4 readings, Meg gets to her father, who is trapped in a cell. Charles Wallace is being manipulated by It, a big brain that controls people.

We read in week 4 that Cady lost her memories of the summer after her accident. She starts to remember moments with her cousins, Gat and Mirren, and the family’s tensions grow. The story hints at deeper secrets within the Sinclair family. Cadence feels isolated, and her mental state becomes more fragile as she tries to piece together what happened.

In Chapter 8 of "A Wrinkle in Time," Meg, Charles, and Calvin face the Dark Thing to save their father. They understand that love is very important. In Chapter 9, they meet the evil IT, which controls people. Meg realizes that love can defeat IT. She uses her love for her father to break its power. This shows how strong love can be against darkness.

In this week's readings I really stuck to this one part of the book where a landslide on Bernadette's property destroys Audrey's home. It was super interesting, especially when Audrey and Bee were fighting. Audrey was being as entitled as ever with how she kept thinking Bee was some type of poor child who didn’t know better and that was suffering with Bernadette as a mom. Bee had ended up slapping Audrey across the face after calling her out on her horrible family, like how her son has no friends because he’s embarrassed of Audrey and he’s only funny because he jokes about his mom, and how her husband has 8 DUI’s but gets off on them because he’s friends with the judge

For this week the book started with Leon mad at Archie for not supporting the Chocolate sale. As a result Archie went to Leon and demanded he start selling chocolates. However when he didn't people started feeling the same and other kids stopped selling completely or only sold half. As a result the Vigils made the sale popular again by boosting sales and selling more themselves. Because of that only Goober is left on his side still not selling to support Gerry but the vigilis make it seem like he sold fifty. Our week ended with Archies plan working and Jerry very isolated.

In my role work as a psychologist, I gave advice to Meg about believing in herself. I learned that even when things are tough, we can find strength inside us. Meg has a hard time with her feelings, but I saw that love and bravery can help her face her fears. It was important to remind her that she is not alone and that her feelings are important.

In Chapters 8 and 9, Meg learns to trust her strength and love to fight against evil. This reminds me of a time in my life when I was scared about a test. My friends and family helped me feel better and gave me courage. Their support helped me, just like Meg’s love for her father helped her.

I learned as a Discussion Director that I can finally ask important questions from the stories on what happens to the characters or the setting.

I chose the quote "I got to be brave, she said to herself" on page 152 because it shows how important courage is when things get hard. This moment shows Meg trying to face her fears and take action. It reminds us that being brave often means telling ourselves to be strong, even when we are scared. This quote can help others find their own courage in tough times.

A quote I found interesting is when caddies mom threatens her and said “if you don’t tell grandad how much you love this house I’m going to send you with your father and you won’t see gat” it’s interesting because that’s the first time the mom exploded on caddie over a house

“And, four thou wast a spirit too delicate/To act her earthy and abhor’d commands…/she did confine thee…into a cloven pine—” I chose this quote because it has an interesting meaning.

Trevor had a crush on his friend Zaheera and wanted to wait 2 years to confess to her.He watched her get a boyfriend and thought he wasn't good enough until she moved and her friend told him that she had a crush on him all along and he soon regretted not asking her out.Trevor also let his friend Teddy take the blame when he stole chocolates from the mall.He was able to escape because he went through a hole in the fence but in the VCR Trevor appeared white so he was never caught.Trevor's friend also tried setting him up with some girl to go to a dance but he messed up by being late and found out she didn't even speak the same language.

A quote I found interesting was "We burned a symbol to the ground" I found this interesting because they burned the house to the ground but said they burned a symbol to the ground because the house symbolized perfection, that everyone and everything in the family is perfect but burning the house means it burned down that legacy and tradition.

A reflection of what I learned from my role work was that setting heavily influences our characters actions as they seem to change whenever the setting changes, it always happens that way and is something that I always noticed.

A summary of what I read this week was how Brian is finally deciding that he should be on Anna's side because he finally realized after having Anna stay with him for now at the fire station. Jesse also had gotten arrested for stealing the judge's car and Anna begged Campbell to help free him. Campbell was getting confused because he didn't know what Anna wanted. Since Sara kept on saying she was going to quit the case but Anna kept on agreeing only when her mother was around.

In We Were Liars, from pages 125 through 190, cadence, the main character, grapples with the realization that she and her cousins, gat Johnny and Mirren set the fire. She understands that they were responsible for the fire and the deaths of the family dogs, but the full truth that the other Liars died in the fire, including Gat, is not revealed yet. This section focuses on Cadence's growing understanding of her own role in the tragedy

This week, I read about Bernadette's lore and background. Bernadette was a really talented architect and thinks outside the box. She built a house called the Twenty Mile House which was eventually bought and destroyed. This, along with her husband's job offer in Seattle, made Bernadette move to Seattle.

This week Brain has been changing up when it comes to Anna. After Campbell talked to him he started thinking about it. He's now on Anna's side and doesn't care about the mom opinion as much. He also told Sara that he isn't on her side anymore.

a text-to-self is when Meg see her father but her father cant see her. The way she feels is understandable saying that she now feels farther away rather than close now that he's there in person.

One connection I can make from text-to-self if when Meg is worried about letting go Charles Wallace's hand because she does not want anything bad happening to him relates to me because I try to stop friends from bad things happening to them or what bad things they are doing.

One text-to-world connection from this week is the theme of family secrets and their impact on relationships. Many families have hidden issues that can cause tension and misunderstandings, much like the Sinclair family. This can lead to feelings of isolation and confusion, similar to what Cadence experiences. It shows how important open communication is in families

A quote I found entertaining was "I asked her sister for a cell number, at least, but something tells me that 401-GO2-HELL is out of service". I found this quote very funny because i wouldn't have expected it in the book or someone to say this. It made the book funny and enjoyable to read.

My role this week was connector, as the connector it helped me realize that some things that are talked about in story are actually true and how the accident Cady suffered in the story could actually happen to anyone.

Being the wonder helped me pay attention to the readings more. It also helped me notice about all the things that could've happened or should've.

As the wonderer I had to dig in the book for interesting things to question. Doing this role work has really shared with me how easy it is to think about things in the novel. Like how most people pass over these little details and facts but they're great things to think about, especially if they reveal more in the story or foreshadow future events in the story 

My role work was the psychologist and I looked at Trevor's problems and if I could give him some advice I would tell him that he should have confessed to her because regret is worse than rejection.He also should have said sorry to Teddy because Teddy took all the blame for the crime and Trevor was able to get away because he seemed white on the VCR.He should have said something because it was the right thing to do.

"Look at me," Mr. Murry commanded. "No", Charles Wallace said. This is important because it shows that IT is controlling Charles' brain and Mr. Murry does not understand.

A text to self connection is when Goober felt like he didn't deserve the praise he was getting. The Vigils sold enough chocolates so it appeared that Goober sold 50 but in reality he only 27 which made him feel like he was getting attention and support for something he didn't earn. I can connect to this because when I was younger my step father did the majority of a project for me and when it was submitted and the teacher praised my work it felt wrong to take the credit like the praise wasn't mine.

This week i was the word wizard and i learned many new words. Whenever i was reading i would look for words that i'm not familiar with or just words i think are interesting. I chose words that impacted the story. An example is the word 'Outpouring" as this word was used to describe how much grief was felt after the building Bernadette designed was demolished.

this week I was the phsycologist, I gave advice to cadence about accepting that shes a sinclair and stop trying to deny it. I learned that perfection is unattainable and will never be and stay achieved.

A text to self connection I could make is when he said "We spend so much time being afraid of failure, afraid of rejection. But regret is the thing we feared most." I can relate to this because I haven't done things in fear of failure and now I regret not doing it.

I was the discussion director and made multiple hot questions. My questions were mainly about how the dad has changed overtime after Campbell talked to him. The questions helped us discuss ways Brain has changed his mind and we thought of ideas as to why that might have happened.

"there was an outpouring of grief in architecture circles around the world as word spread that the house had been demolished." (Semple 120) i chose this quote because it was a big part of the pages we read as it shows Bernadattes work had gone to rubble.

I can make a Text-to-self about Brian because at the end he chose to be on Anna's side instead of going for Sara's side because he didn't care for her thoughts about anything anymore. I can relate to this because at the end I do what I think is best instead of listening to other people and telling me what to do.

A connection I'm able to make in the book is a text-to-world, In the book there"s a part of the text where it seems like it's a podcast where these people are talking about Bernadette. I can connect this to the real world because of the fact there's so many different podcasts that love talking about other peoples lives and trash talking random people they don't even know. They also hang on to the past and always talk about it, the same thing with Bernadette.

This week ,I was a Passage Picker. Being a Passage Picker helped highlight important passages for me and my table to remember for later use. Picking the passages were a bit hard since there were multiple events happening at the same time but he ones that I chose were important to remember.

For this week I started reading where Bernadette ran away before getting sent to a mental place for help. She went missing after that. The most unexpected person was the one who helped her escape before they caught, it was Audrey. The both didn't like each other. But Audrey realized that Bernadette was going to be sent a mental health because of her because she made up the story where "Bernadette ran over her foot" she didn't. Also the mudslide wasn't Bernadette fault either, Audrey ordered Bernette to take out the blackberries brushes, so it was all Audreys fault. After all that Bernette ended up going to Antarctica without Bee or her husband. Bee started to not care about school, when she went to boarding school she was sent back to her house because of her behavior.

My role was the Psychologist. I chose to give advice to Bernadette.  I advice her to tell everyone the truth about Audrey, that she didn't run over her foot and that the mud slide wasn't her fault, Audrey was the one who ordered her to take out the blackberries brushes instead to just staying quiet.

A text-to-world connection from this week's reading would be that a lot of people like staying quiet and don't speak up for themselves, like Bernadette when she was accused for running over someone's foot and being the "weird one" just because she don't socialize that much.

A text to world is how Brian is changing his mind on the situation and knows what has been happening is wrong and needs to be stopped. Sometimes people know they are in the wrong but are too deep into it they don't think they can change. They might think its too late to do the right thing.

"No matter how many times you drive to the emergency room, it never becomes routine."pg 223 This quote is important because its saying even though they go very often its such a sad thing she can't even imagine it being daily thing in their routine.

In this weeks reading, Leon threatens Archie and The Vigil to go through on their promise and help the chocolate sale by getting Jerry to sell the chocolate. Archie holds a Vigil meeting to get Jerry to sell the chocolates but it doesn't work and Jerry still declines them the next day. That same day, Jerry calls his crush, Ellen Barrett but is embarrassed and called a creep. This Deals a blow to his self-esteem. Sometime later, Archie tries giving an assignment a kid named Frankie Rollo but Frankie makes fun of The Vigil showcasing how Jerry is making The Vigil look weak. Carter then punches Frankie taking control of the situation overshadowing Archie. Days later, The Vigil start taking steps to forcing Jerry to take the chocolates. They plan ambushes in his football games, they cut up his sports shoes, and give him eerie phone calls at night. Eventually the who school is against Jerry, except for The Goober. The Goober is the only one not selling chocolate in support of Jerry. However, as the totals of chocolate sales come in his number reaches 50 reveling that The Vigil are inflating or faking the chocolate sale numbers.

My work as the wonder this week made me look back into my book and really get to think about the characters and plot points. For example, I wondered why is Brother Leon so adamant about selling chocolate and what will happen if he doesn't.

A text-to-self connection I can make is when Jerry call Ellen Barrett after looking up to her a thinking she's a nice and kind person only to be disappointed and embarrassed by her. I can relate to this because when I was little I thought the popular kid in my class was really cool and nice but when I tried actually say hi he hamulated me In front of all my friends.

"I'm not a scared kid who pees his pants because the big bad Vigils call him to a meeting. Hell, you guys can't even scare a punk freshman into selling a few lousy chocolates...". I find this quote important because it shows how Jerry's defiance of the Vigil's have stained their reputation and made the kids of the school bolder and unafraid.

In Week 4 we read about how Cadence's attempts to piece together what happened to her and the Liars during the fire, culminating in her realization that they were all gone, with the exception of herself. She begins to grasp the truth about the fire, its cause, and the tragic outcome, including the deaths of Johnny, Mirren, and Gat. This leads to her understanding of the fire's impact on her family and the lingering grief and guilt she carries. 

As the word wizard I had to pay attention to the readings and look into words that didn't look familiar to me and my reading group and find out the definition and share my findings with them

One text to world connection I can make is the Sinclair's dysfunctional family such as families in the real world they also can be dysfunctional at times.

One quote I found interesting was "But perhaps this is the only way we can start. Be normal now. Right now. (Lockhart 127)". I found this interesting because this quote develops Gat's and Mirren's relationship along the lines.

This week, the book starts off with Brother Leon being upset with Archie for not helping in the Chocolate sale. Archie goes to Leon and tells him to sell chocolates. However, when he refused, others started to not want to sell entirely or only sold some chocolates. So the Vigils popularized the sale by increasing sales and selling for themselves. Because of this only The Goober remains on Jerry's side by not selling chocolates. But the Vigils make it as though he sold some.

My role as the Discussion Director I had to really understand the text. With this it helped me find the important questions in the book. It makes me think and use the text to find my answer to the questions. And see how well I'm doing when it comes to understanding the book.

"We are not ourselves." This line suggests that the characters are hiding their true selves, which creates tension in the story. It shows how people can change or hide their feelings because of fear or pain. This theme makes you think about identity and what it means to be real. Those are some of the reasons as to why it interested me.

This week I read more about Bernadatte and her history. we read that in her time living in Los Angeles she was still a creative architect and she designed a building just for it to be destroyed. this encouraged her to pack her bags and move to Seattle. this decision shaped her as a character.

One quote that I found important was "So in Europe and America, yes,Hitler is the Greatest Madman in history.In Africa he's just another strongman from the history books."(pg 196) This is important because it shows how history is taught in the world and how people view historical figures in different ways.Also how anti semitism wasn't a very normal thing in Africa and white people and jewish people were viewed as the same and not different.

Bernadettes story connects many people that have left their homes to find new opportunities just like she left Los Angeles for Seattle. this shows how change can be not only challenging but sometimes rewarding.

A recap of what I read this week is that this boy named Trevor has a huge crush on a popular girl named Zaheera he wants to wait until the last day of high school and ask her when its prom because since she is popular all the boys want her so he wants to wait until she gets tired of boys that like her so he plays the waiting game.

my role work was a quote from the book that either connects to the word or me and I think that Trevor should get to know her a little more but also the thing is shes always attracting boys so Trevor thinks he has no chance so I think that he should just ask her instead of waiting.

I this that this connects to the world because there's a lot of people out there like Trevor that are to afraid to ask because they think they are not good enough or they are not popular so I think people in real life should stop thinking like that and ask and if they say no then just move on.

Trevor said "I'll wait until prom" because he wants to wait for her to date other guys and start thinking that she don't like those type of guys and then like Trevor as her final option.

One quote that I found entertaining was where Janza says to Jerry " That you're a fairy. A queer. Living in the closet, hiding away." I find this funny because Janza is trying to pick on Jerry with little things. Not going so far as getting physical. Or getting really personal to him. He further more begins to call Jerry a fairy. The whole situation is just dumb and that's what just makes it funny.

I learned as psychologist I see that Sara is going through a lot as well. And that Sara just might need some help but no one else really sees it and blames her for everything that's going on. This helps me to be more focused on each person's point of view when reading.

A recap of this week's reading is that Campbell switched up from not caring to focusing on Anna now and he's trying more to win the case but he still is paying more attention to Julia when he shouldn't be. Brian is now to stress even more with everything going on. This had him what was best for everyone and he picked Anna's side for the case. It made Sara get mad at him for making his own decision. Sara then starts to get a lot of emotions and doesn't feel right with everything going on. Her sister tries to give her advice but Sara doesn't seem to get it very well because she wants her way to happen very bad.

One connection I can make is a text-to-world connection. While Bernadette was still in L.A. working on the Twenty Mile House and Beeber Bifocal, cities were mentioned, like Gardena, in the book. the book uses many actual cities and real places.

My week 4 reading was super interesting and very entertaining. We got to read about Bernadette's past and situations we didn't know about. For example when Bernadette was living in LA she was a super successful and was a talented architect. She built two homes one got a lot of attention from people and she decided to sell it. She sold the house to a famous entertainer that destroyed that home within hours of purchasing it. It took Bernadette two years to build it from the ground up!
