 Tourism Australia conducted a Consumer Demand Research project in 15 of Australia’s key tourism markets which identified food and wine was a key factor in holiday decision-making. Food and wine also become the most important emotive trigger for decision-making. The research also found that those who had not been to Australia (only 26%), associated the country with ‘good food and wine’. However, that figure dramatically increased to 60% among those who had visited. Australia is ranked number one for food and wine for visitors who have travelled from China, United Kingdom, the USA, France, Indonesia, Italy and South Korea.
