I changed the storyline a lot :

:Jade's head felt hot and thick, filled with smoke of guilt. She was not yet ready to face the music. Kayley's words echoed in her head. " its easy! Its Easy!" Oh, why did i trust her? Jade whined. She trembled like a leaf as her eyes darted around the shop frantically searching for some magical fairy that would save her by turning her invisible. her nose flared as the Mrs.Hall snatched the calculator out of her pocket.' she had no right to touch my jacket!' Jade said, her mouth agape. Then again, she had no right to steal. the hairs on the back of her neck were standing upright like soldiers in a army . Her brain was not functioning like it was supposed to. It was as if someone had glued her eyes to her eyelids and her mouth to her chin. her legs were trembling. Her knees buckled and she fell onto a display of notebooks. she lied still like a corpse which was what she had wanted to be right there, dead, invisible, unnoticible. she was so thankful that there were no other shoppers that day to add to her humiliation. Ignoring the mess, Jade stood back up almost immediately and ran as fast as her legs could carry her after Mrs Hall, hot tears streaming down her face like a waterfall. don't look at me ! don't look at me ! she thought, when the other shopkeeper saw her.she was as pale as a ghost. her emotions were iso uncontrollable that she locked herself in the washroom next to the storage room and sat there, rooted to the ground,in complete silence. Her toes were sweaty under the warmth of her socks and her tongue as dry as sandpaper. " why did i trust her ?" T hey say the eyes are windows to the soul, so jade shut her windows when she heard knocking on the door.' Don't see me cry!" After a moment of hesitation, she opened it only to find a policewoman. she looked as fierce as a tiger yet as gentle as a swan. Her eyes shot daggers, but they were made of feathers. she was on the brink of a smile until she saw her hands. they were red and bulky, capable of knocking down a sumo wrestler. to make matters worse one of her hands were wrapped around a gun like she wanted to shoot her down .Jade was tempted to stay inside until she saw her dad. the hot tears came back like rivulets as she ran towards him and clinged onto his arm. To her surprise, he was not as mad as a bull, but very concerned, as if Jade was badly injured . Just then, Mrs.Hall approached , her frown as tilted as the titanic before it submerged. Her mouth was visible, her teeth grinding toghrther like a shark before an attack. Jades skin was not thick enough to accept all the cold stares from the policewomen and the shop owners. A tsunami of guilt washed over jade and before she knew it, her brain was flooded with questions . " Jade, which secondary school do you go to?" " jade! are you alright!" " have you stolen anything else from my shop? " they loomed over her with their horrifying questions .her ears were bursting with words of complaint.she tried to reply but couldn't . it was as if the guilt had chopped off her vocal chords. She shivered from head to toe as if regret had transported her to antartica, where the ice bergs were questions and the snow, fear . she covered her face with her long, lava red hair, and sat on the bench and cried. she cried until she couldn't cry any more. her eyes were red and puffy and her shirt soaked with tears when she finally stood up , Dragging her leaden feet , with her arms and legs shaking in sheer trepidation and beads of sweat gushing from her forehead like a waterfall she answered most of the questions, still clinging to her dads arm as if it was the only . thing that kept her in reality .Despite her condition, the policewoman with her same mundane expression, still asked Jade to follow her to the police station. her dad let go of jades hand and stared at jade as if he was wondering if she would disappear into thin air and save him the humiliation. unfortunately she didn't and the policewoman whom she saw first grabbed her hand and yanked her towards the exit. after a moment of hesitation, Jade shook their hands off and really let go of all her emotions." IT WAS ALL KAYLEY'S FAULT! ''

Jade's head felt hot and thick and she momentarily felt giddy. As Mrs Hall reached for her jacket pocket, she thought of running away as fast as fast as lightning. However, she thought the better of it. If she ran, more people would chase after her and she would eventually be caught. Moreover, people would think of her as a cowardly thief. The hairs on Jade's neck stood up and her nose flared as Mrs Hall produced the calculator from Jade's pocket. As Jade saw the customers in the shop look at her, her eyes darted around in search of a magic potion that would make her invisible. She covered her face with her long hair in order to avoid her face being stored in the cameras of a few very inquisitive customers. Her knees were as wobbly as jelly as Mrs hall, on a phone call, beckoned Jade to follow her. Her ears were as red as tomatoes as she could not bear the guilt of what she had done. "It's easy." Kayley's voice rang in Jade's head. Why,oh why, she tried to be like Kayley? What had she been thinking? Her toes were sweaty under the warmth of her socks. She was told to wait in the storeroom until the police officer came. Jade locked herself in the storeroom and cried her heart out. She cried until she could cry no more and her eyes were extremely red and puffy when she heard knocking on the door. When she came face to face with a tiger-like fierce looking policewoman , Jade really let go of all her emotions.

At that instance, Jade truly wished she could find a hole in the ground and squeeze through it. Her skin is not thick enough to hold all the cold stares and complains spilling out of the two strangers looming over her. Jade's ears were full of words of complaint and felt like it was bursting. Her eyes could not help but dart around every corner of the shop with guilt and regret. She bit her lips, trying to hold back her tears. The back of her neck felt cold. "Oh no! A ghost must be after me!" Jade thought with a bee in her bonnet. She completely lost touch with her legs and arms, and her whole body felt like it was turning into a lifeless zombie. She hoped she could travel back in time and start all over again.

She stood there frozen, although she knew many pairs of eyes darted towards her. Her face turned as pale as a blank piece of paper. Her eyes darted everywhere around the shop with regret and folly. She could not move her legs and she could not move her lips as though it was like papers being glued and stuck to each other.Goosebumps appeared all over her arms as she got more and more nervous.

Jade froze as the store’s alarm went off. She knew there was no way she could get out of it. It all went well till now. Why must the store have an alarm? How did Kayley get past the alarm without getting caught? She wished she could dig a hole in the ground and crawl right into it. Her eyes farted around the store, hoping that her fairy godmother would magically appear right in front of her and let her get out of this mess. “I thought you said that whatever was on the counter was whatever you had?” the shopkeeper interrogated, staring right into Jade’s teary eyes. A chill that ran down Jade’s spine made Jade’s teary eyes explode. Tears ran down her soft cheeks like rivulets. “I’m sorry! I won’t do it again! Can you please let me off?” Jade pleaded, tears flowing down her cheeks. “I’ll need to report all shop thefts to the police,” the shopkeeper whispered, sotto voce. That statement made Jade bawl her eyes out.

How she wished that there was some "Super Man" to save her from the trouble. Trembling from head to toe, she looked timidly at the shop owner and then tried to talk as calmly as she could. She was breathing hot air out of her nose like a dragon. Her mouth opened and closed, but no words came out as if she had lost her own voice. Her legs were trembling as if hr human legs turned into legs of a jellyfish. She felt as if she had lost total control of her body and was about to fall. In her mind, she wished that she could eat up all her actions and her words, so that she would not get in hot water, like now.

[I changed the storyline and used the first person perspective for Jade] My head felt heavy, like burdens made of my conscience were laden on my head. They say the eyes are the windows to your soul, so I averted the woman’s strong gaze and looked at my feet. My mouth opened and closed like a goldfish, deciding whether to tell the woman the truth or not. “T-there’s nothing in my pocket.” I fibbed, my ears turning as red as blood flowing out an open wound. With my head still lowered, I slowly lifted my hand and stuffed it in my pocket and lifted it out again, still not taking the calculator out. I wanted to try to show the woman that my pocket was empty. Big mistake. When I stuffed my hand into my pocket, I had accidentally pressed the calculator in the front of the pocket. The woman could then visibly see the shape of the calculator in my pocket. She shook her head and stretched out her arm, with her palm facing directly at me and her fingers apart. “Show me, please.”She stared me right in the eyes. It was as if there were daggers made of fire that were shooting into my eyes; hot and unbearable. It was so unbearable that I had to look down again. On the outside, I looked normal and still in control. On the inside, it was the opposite. My conscience and the fear of the consequences were battling like soldiers in a war. Each of them had built up a wall at each side of my mind to block the other one’s attacks. The walls prevented me from thinking straight since it was like a blockage in my brain, causing me to suddenly break down because of the stress. Brick by brick, the walls that hold me up crumble as I continue to be in a dilemma. My emotions swirled like tsunamis building up, with no sign of ending. Like grey clouds filled with rainwater to the brim, waiting to pour down all the rain, the tsunamis inside me reached a point where it could not get taller. It needed an outlet to release all the water and it chose my eyes. Tears came rushing down my face. Without thinking, I reached into my pocket and lifted the calculator out. With my trembling hands, I handed the calculator to the woman.

Jade shivered feverishly as she heard Mrs Hall’s high heels go click clack on the floor coming closer and closer to her. Beads of sweat started to stream down her neck down to her back. What almost stopped her from breathing was when Mrs Hall approached her and questioned, “What are you hiding in your bag young lady?” Her head felt so hot she could have fried an egg on it. “N...Nothing..” she stuttered as she gulped heavily. Jade’s hands trembled as she dug into her bag and gave Mrs Hall the shiny black calculator she swiped. She could not pretend any longer as keeping that shiny object in her bag was against her principles. She was afraid things would become big and it will even get her Father involved.
