* Rating: 6.5/10
* Comment: At first, I was really impressed by the cover of "What Light". It is one of the books has such a nice cover that urged me to pick it up right away when I saw it on the rack at the library. To be honest, 80% the reason I picked this book was just because of its super beautiful cover, 20% because of the author of this book is Jay Asher - the author of the famous book "Thirteen Reasons Why". I swore I had no interested in its plot. Based on the short summary on its cover, I thought this story has a pretty basic plot. I was really surprised how Jay Asher could write such a book like this after his complicated but dedicate book, "Thirteen Reasons Why". I was about to stop reading, but my curiosity urged me to continue. As what the summary described, this book is 80% romance, the rest is all about family and friendship. Since it is a book for young adults, I can say it is pretty OK. But for my picky standards about books, this is not enough to satisfy me.
* Dear the author of this book, Jay Asher, I was a huge fan of yours after finishing your well-known book, "Thirteen Reasons Why". But I think I have to be honest, I felt frustrated after finishing this book :(( I mean, it is way too different from what I expected from your book though :(( "What Light" is not bad, but it certainly has nothing special. I expected more when I decided to choose this one from the library...
