Challenges are students have lots to juggle as do staff, so time availability isn't always the same so those students limited to working in evenings feel left out, and staff feel pressured to work 24/7

They also cheerfully join in 1-1 meetings via Teams and my sense is they are more likely to turn up, than when they had to remember to come to my office.  For things like that, the convenience has been great.

There are many good reasons why they don't come onto campus e.g. long commute, health issues. Something we just expected to happen naturally, as a result of ordinary, everyday interaction.  Covid has made me think more carefully - and flexibly - about what a learning community could become.
