The next day Philip told them they had to go back for some questions, and on that day Philip, Nancy, and the kids were separated into different rooms. Two patrol officers ask questions to Jaycee, and she was scared that her children were going to be taken away. After some time the officer told her that it was okay, to tell the truth, because they found out that she had been kidnaped. Jaycee told them that she was 11 when she was kidnaped and currently 29 and that she was held captive for 18 years. The officer asked for her name, but Jaycee had not said her name in 18 years so she wrote it out, and she felt free and like she broke an evil spell.

Philip tells Jaycee that it would be a good idea if she and her babies start calling Nancy "Mom", and Jaycee as the "sister" of the kids. Jaycee is sad to think about even doing that because she has a mom, and she misses her mom. Philip then tells her to change her name. Soon after Jaycee's new name was "Allissa".

Then on November 13, 1997, at 2:15 am her second baby girl is born.

Jaycee is scared that she would be left alone and they would not come back for her.
