In the 2017 movie Everything, Everything the mothers love for her daughter caused her to have foolish behavior. This movie was about an 18 year old girl named Madeline who couldn't go outside, couldn't open or go towards the door and couldn't have company unless they were checked for any germs that could harm Maddy. She was trapped in a hermetically sealed environment. The only reason Madeline wasn't allowed to go outside was due to a disease called Severe Combined Immunodeficiency. (SCID).
Madeline's mother Dr. Pauline kept Maddy in the house because she wanted to believe that Maddy was "sick". She made her stay in the house for approximately 18 years because she really wanted to keep Maddy safe from the outside world since her husband and son died in a car accident. This pushed Maddy over the edge and caused her to move to her friends house/her former maids house Maddy then knowing she was not sick booked a ticket to New York and texted her ex boyfriend Olly to meet her in a bookstore. When she got to the bookstore Olly was there waiting for her like he promised and she told him everything, how her mother lied and had her thinking she was really sick. Afterwards the two finally got to be together and lived happily ever after.
This shows how love can sometimes make you do foolish things and hurt the people you truly love. Because of the death of her son and husband Paula took 18 years away from her daughter because she didn't want to lose her. At the end of the movie Maddy somewhat forgives her mother but she is still hurt b what her mom did. At the end of the day the love for her mother never went away.
