What is Western Art Music Canon?

A Western Art music canon is music and art, that has been the most influential in shaping Western culture. It is also perceived as perceived as being of major artistic merit and representing the high culture of Europe and North America. After reading, "If History is Written by the Victors" by Sara Haefeli, I discovered that, "German nationalism was equally important in the formation of our musicological canon". That being said, "German composers were front and center: Bach, Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven, Schubert, Schumann, Brahms, Bruckner, and others" which then caused them to becoming nationally known.

My Opinion on The Classical Station...

Classical 101 WRR 101.1 Fm plays a wide variety of classical arrangements. When listening to the station, I heard a few of my favorite artists such as Mozart, Beethoven, and Brahms. I occasionally listen to classical music being as though I grew up singing classical and still do till this day. I would say my experience was just as enjoyable as listening to my favorite genre of music because I appreciate classical music.

The piece seemed purposely rush due to the tempo and how fast the violinist were playing, almost as though they were in a race.
