People left behind there homes all over the world and traveled to America for a new life. Why? One reason is that the US government promised free land. The US also has religious freedom and freedom of speech. Eventually, there wasn't enough land anymore! the U.S. had too many immigrants. They had to have a law that filters out the immigrants. If they didn't meet the requirements then they would be sent home.

In their homelands, people were poor. But there were few, if any, ways to make money. Without money, families couldn't buy food, homes, or anything else. Then, many decided to move to America, where there were a lot of economic opportunities. The ships were disgusting, since many had to ride in the grossest area, and there wasn't much food either. When they arrived, they had to go through a couple checks at Ellis Island, where they decided if they could go into America or have to go back home, depending on their criminal records and if they have diseases. After passing, they are free to get jobs, not have to face oppression and grow crops, or just buy food.
People didn't have jobs because there weren't any job opportunities. They couldn't make money because of this, so they couldn't get anything necessary for survival. They decided that, if they moved to America, they would get job opportunities. So they used what little money they had to buy tickets to get on a ship and go to America. They spent a week to 10 days traveling, during which there was barely any food. Most had to ride in the lowest part of the ship, which was very gross and smelly. But when they got there, it was worth it, to most. At Ellis Island they were tested, and determined if they could go to America. If they did, they would have better lives. If they didn't, they would have to go back and continue not having money.

That big green piece of art is sitting on top of an island. She is always holding a scroll and a torch. Just to remind us that we live in a free country. Whenever it is night she glows. She is 151 ft from the base to the torch. Tourist all over the world have toured her, and looked at her museums.

When I stepped into the room where the double helix stairway was I could not help but marvel at the height of the stairs themselves. I had definitely underestimated how tall Lady Liberty really was. I heard the clanging of foot on metal as people climbed the shining silver staircase. The stairway seemed to spiral too heaven but it only went to the lower platform. I couldn't imagine how high up the higher platform would be. Underneath me the clear glass that I was standing on showed the Pedestal stairs. I'll be honest, it was kind of scary. If I looked to the sides of me there was lots of clutter around. I was sure they were probably important but it made the interior have a messy appearance. Then I walked up the stairs to explore the rest of the magnificent statue.

I step into the information center and recognize the tip of the glowing torch. As I wonder through the Flag pole plaza I admired the the view of Lady Liberty from behind. Roaming to the Centennial Doors I stare and think "How old are these doors" by looking at the dull and shiny color. My tracks have dropped me off at the Double Helix Stairway to begin my expedition through the statue. When peeking around the Stairway there were many metal pieces and equipment that made the place a bit messy. They must be holding up this magnificent statue. After walking a while I made it up to the crown that she wears upon her head. The view out the crown was breathtaking. After admiring the view some more I headed up to see the Torch interior. The ceiling above me had a unique shape and a unique color. It was very interesting to view. I made my way to the last stop on my adventure. I glance out the balcony looking out at sea, and other islands, it was beautiful. Lady Liberty was a show of Peace, Freedom, and Friendship between us and France.
London :P

The Statue of Liberty represents freedom. It was a gift from France. It was standing on a building in an island in New York. We could even go inside of the Statue of Liberty. There were never ending stairs and ladders. The statue was over 100 years old. One of the most breathtaking statues in the world.

After taking the rusty stairs that never ended until now to the torch that Lady Liberty holds, you see the beauty of everything surrounding you! The first thing that caught your eye the very time you opened the door was the shimmering ocean that you had to journey across with other tourists to reach Lady Liberty, and you imagine in the ocean all the unique creatures that looked like tiny specks from the torch's view. Then you look up to see the baby blue colored sky with puffy cotton candy clouds. You feel so close to the point that you imagine it picking you up high from the fiery torch. Leaning towards the fence you notice dozens of friendly tourists wearing outfits that you have never seen before are walking around like tiny worker ants that are exploring everything mesmerizing they see. After taking a quick scope of the ground you notice Lady Liberty's stone cold tablet that she carries with her left arm, and you try reading the careful words displayed on it but just can't figure out what it says since it's so far. After looking around and taking more then a thousand pictures you finally head down and explore the museum with all the other tourists.

The look on her face says I am proud to be here and I am here for a reason. The tablet she holds in her hand had the date she was given to us. The crown on her head had seven points. One for each Continent. The dress she wheres has a bunch of little squares if you look close enough.

From inside of the torch that is held by the Statue of Liberty, you can see many different things. One of the things that you can see is that it is still the original color of copper, but the outside is not. You may also see the ocean out of the little cracks in the sides. Another thing that you can see is that there is a light bulb on the wall so that you can see if it gets too dark. When you look up, you can see the structuring of the fire. When you take a closer look at the top and sides, you may notice that it looks like only the top if made of copper; at least on the inside.

The Statue of Liberty is a wonderful sight. My favorite part about her is her majestic torch. Lady Liberty holds her beautiful torch above her head proud. Her torch is a little rusty but the largeness of it makes it hard to see. The torch is such a shiny yellow it can be easily mistaken for gold. The torch itself is small compared to the State of Liberty ,but you look at the torch from up close, you can see how large it really is. On the base of the torch is a ring of lights that makes the illusion of the torch glowing, in the night sky.

The Statue of Liberty was made in the late 1880s and was given to the U.S. from France because they were envious of their democracy. The Torch is a symbol of enlightenment and the Torch guides the way to Liberty for everyone. The seven points on the Statue of Liberty's halo represent the seven seas and the seven continents. The resembles the need for laws to keep everyone safe in the U.S. The robe that the Statue is wearing represents the Libertas, the goddess of Liberty and freedom.

This poem was from the french and the american to welcome immigrants to the country. The statue of liberty is beautiful so is the poem. One day the french gave america gift a gift that would change america forever. With that gift a person wrote a poem for them saying Not like the brazen giant of Greek fame With Conquering limbs astride from land to land;
Here at our sea-washed, sunset gates shall stand
A mighty woman with a torch, whose flame
Is the imprisoned lightning, and her name
Mother of Exiles. From her beacon-hand
Glows world-wide welcome; her mild eyes command
The air-bridged harbor that twin cities frame.
"Keep, ancient lands, your storied pomp!" cries she
With silent lips. "Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door!". we have yet to appreciate the statue as much as we should have.

The Torch of the Statue of Liberty Used to be brown but is now a Gorgeous Sea green color ( which kind of matches the water around the island ). The handle and fire are made out of copper.

The statue of liberty is amazing in all but what I think is the best is the torch. First of all, the torch gives off the stellar illusion that it is burning. They do this with several lights at the top of the torch. Second of all, the torch actually has a ladder that you can climb on! It may sound CRAZY cool, but I bet it would be scary because of how old the statue is. The last thing is that on the inside of the torch it is less rusty and polished than the outside. They do this because the only people that would be going up into the torch are the workers.

You have to take ladders then take stairs to get to the bell. If you climb get there from the bottom to top you would climb about 295 to 300 feet in the air. The bell might be one of the few copper parts that stayed too look like gold. If you climb all the stairs to get to the bell it would 354 feet to to 20 stories high.

Some of those details are spotlights on the Statues of Liberty's head because whenever it's dark out, they want you to see the Statue of Liberty. Another detail of the Statue of Liberty is when you first walk in front of the Statue of Liberty there is a poem telling you about it the Statue of Liberty.Another detail about the Statue of Liberty is it used to be copper is brown but sense of all the rust and how long it's been turned to green. The statue has a book in its hand and it says the year the Declaration of Independence was made. Her crown has seven spikes on its head representing the seven continents.

The good part is the view when you're on the torch when you look out in the distance you will see SOO many buildings. You Will see a lot of water that is around the Statue too. Sometimes you will see boats and, sometimes you many not, Sometimes the water will look beautiful sometimes it wont. Most of the time you will see fog that may cover some of the buildings that could possibly effect the view. The best part of it is that it is HUGE are extremely Tall.

It was a gift from France symbolizing our freedom and, independence. Her face looked proud. Her slate has the date the Declaration of Independence was signed on it. The statue is the color brightish darkish green, although it used to be brown because it is made of coper. The flames on her torch are gold. The statue of liberty is big, but not as big as you think. She is only 305 feet tall. Her torch lights the way for all who come to America.

A while ago they use to let people go inside the torch and look around. That didn't last long though because to get up there you have to use a really sketchy looking ladder that wasn't safe. The ladder looks like it was once bright white but now is chipped and rusty. The inside looks like it is made of some type of metal and is a lot of years old!! So I imagine it has a really ripe metal scent. On the outside of the torch there are lights circling it. The lights are dark blueish purple that look like that they are solar lights. On the outside of the lights it has the same pale green copper!! The torch stands for lighting the way to freedom!!

One thing in the Statue of Liberty's crown room is curved lines in the wight bowl-like roof. One more thing in the Statue of Liberty's crown room is 20 Windows with brown frames facing out to sea. Another thing in the Statue of Liberty's crown room is Metal floors with a small metal staircase leading up to the 20 windows. Something else in the Statue of Liberty's crown room is on all sides there are 8 beams going along the wall with a tan-like color. There's black foam covered in zip ties going along 4 out of 8 beams in the crown room. In the crown room, there are clean clear metal railings going along the metal going all the way around. On the metal bottom, there were small little cravings on the metal floor. In the bottom middle, there's a spiral staircase going down with a silver like color.

The statue of Liberty holds a book instead of the Internet. She holds a fake torch that can't even glow at all. The Statue of Liberty is a mix of green and blue for some reason and I never knew that humans used to be green and blue. You can go inside of the Statue of Liberty, But who wants to go in there. It looks like an unfinished house, and you don't want to be in there because you can get trapped. It's like a maze without seeing a map.

Families far and friends gathered around admire Lady Liberty, as she means freedom from a long time ago. With her emeraldish skin and a book of laws her hand, and a beautiful bright torch above her head that glows at night. Hey, Did you know that her torch is actually not the original one? The Original torch was actually made in the 1800's, and since it has been altered over the years, they made it the centerpiece in the museum for everyone to look at. Also, Did you know that the Original torch was made with sheets of copper and gilded so they could cut through it and make it act like a lighthouse or beacon? Pretty neat, right? Now we have the newer torch, which was recreated as the third round of alterations finished in 1916!

The Statue of Liberty is many things like freedom,Independence,America. The Statue of Liberty was a gift from the French it wasn't really a gift to the MVP us.The book that the Statue of Liberty is holding a book that represents the date that we signed the Declaration of Independence. The Statue of Liberty torch means like I light in a dark room leading you to Freedom in my words that's what I think it is that's basically the definition. Statue of Liberty it has many meanings one of the main reasons that the French made it was to symbolize a alliance.

It had a crown with 7 rings on it to represent all the contents and the 7 seas. She was also called lady liberty. She had a huge torch to spark happiness to the immigrants. She stood on her island and represented freedom. She also had a tablet and one that tablet was the date the U.S. wrote the declaration of independence.

The gold is always glowing. During the day it reflects the sun's light and during the night it has 16 floodlights reflecting on it. The torch is 16 feet tall and 12 feet wide. The torch is covered in mud and rust. The torch is a symbol of freedom and enlightenment. The torch was replaced in 1984.
