The image illustrates that the social system is based on your race. For example, "African Americans and Latinos are more likely to be unemployed." The White has the lowest unemployment rate compared to the Latino and African American as the society is biased to one side which allows them to explore more job opportunities. Another example shown in the image can be the graduation rate differences in April 2014 for the White, Latino and African American. White resulted in the highest percentage with 62.1% compared to Latino with 51.0% and African American with 39.9%.

Through the dialogues such as "Most of these fellas will cheat you every time. All they think of is money." we can see how thirsty the people were for money back in the 20th century. Another dialogue is "she goes around looking at people's feet in their own homes." This means that the woman is analysing people's wealth by for example their outfit, their living conditions and appearance. This could be because she was very materialistic and wanted to see how she could keep up with the times by making herself look rich. Through this we can conclude that the attitude of the people back then were materialistic, thirsty for money, and to keep up with trends and maintain their social status by seeming rich or being rich.

The black society's racial discrimination is backed uo by evidence stating that the people born in the black society has a very hard time to go up social classes since birth.

The details found from the source can be depicted that blacks in America are more poor than most other ethnicity. This implies that the social mobility for blacks in America is lower than other races, further stated with statements from the source such as "Black Wealth Barely Exists" as well as "The median wealth of Households is now 13 times greater than for black households". This ultimately portrays that America as a country, shows the belief that the blacks work low income jobs and should not climb up the social ladder meanwhile most whites are encouraged to climb up the social ladder due as evident with the evidence of discrimination in America.

The main reason behind Tom's racist behaviour is that he was brought up in an environment where African Americans worked for him and were beneath him. This moulded him to have a mindset where African Americans are looked down upon. Hence, the idea that people who are his servants can be the same wealth level as him intimidates. This motivates him to stop any possibilities from this happening.

It is published in the Economic Report of the President and derives from The White House. It compares the social mobility and income distribution in different countries.

Limitations
Firstly, it is only a graph. The source does not explore in depth in terms of social mobility. It might also be outdated as it is published in 2012, with information from 1985.

Limitations: The limitation of the source is that it is a fiction book, and that gives it a high chance of being an unreliable source of information. Other than that, the source does not give specific details how someone might be born with privileges and advantages over others which can cause confusion in the readers.

Values: This excerpt is taken from a book that was written by F. Scott Fitzgerald, who lived in the late 1800's to 1940. Thus, it can be considered as a credible source as it was written by a person who lived and experienced the life of that era.
