Students paired this section with stories in Wonders about how to vote, how voting is your voice and choosing candidates that share your values.

We had Q and A sessions with Mayor Eric Mamula and School Board Candidate Lisa Webster to help students understand these different roles.

We spent time on ways to have civil discourse and how to speak respectfully with one another even when you disagree. We also discussed the importance of listening to other people's opinion and using facts to back up opinions.

Students were able to pair rights with the responsibilities that come from those rights.
