         <description><![CDATA[<div>According to the article "How to reach older struggling readers," Multisyllabic decoding is a reading strategy in which students break words into syllables and identify the vowel patterns in each syllable to read the word. (Pitts, 2020) Syllable Division allows students to work on one, two, and three syllable words. Students are also provided with different strategies for syllable division and better "able to visually recognize the letter patterns that determine where to divide these words will help with reading." (Olsson, 2017)  This includes practicing consonant and vowel patterns and sounds. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>According to Pitts, when working on structural analysis, "students focus on specific word parts, like prefixes, stems, and suffixes." (Pitts, 2020) According to Lexia, "Learning to read words with Latin and Greek origins through structural analysis can be extremely helpful."&nbsp;(Olsson, 2017)<br><br>"One of the advantages of teaching word identification strategies through structural analysis is that there is a finite number of prefixes, stems, and suffixes, which recur in many words." Once students learn to recognize these parts, they find that they are able to read and comprehend with greater automaticity. The meaning is also inherent in the root, stem, or suffix, and is helpful for remembering and identifying letter patterns and words. (Olsson, 2017)</div>]]></description>
