Group 2: Joie, Jia-En, Zachary

Antonio's willingness to risk his life for Bassanio suggests that their male friendship is extremely intense, strong, emotional and powerful. Antonio is had given Bassanio the most, "in money and in love". The diction of "love" shows how deep Antonio's affection for Bassanio was, emphasizing the intensity of their male friendship. Through Antonio’s actions, Shakespeare emphasizes how powerful and selfless male friendships can be.
