But, my top three most influential events (in no particular order) would be joining the gymnastics team, my brother going off to college, and me being lucky enough to be able to travel the world. 

Ever since I was young, my family has always traveled different places across the world, and I could not be more thankful for the experiences I gained and different cultures I was able to witness. Not only did these exotic vacations enhance my knowledge on other cultures, but it also gave me a whole new perspective on the way people live. Even as a kid, I was able to realize that there are countries that have a large population in poverty and are unable to have all of the luxuries we have, even something as small as clean water. Because I was able to gain a completely different perspective on the world and the people in it, I started taking less things for granted, which is a trait I still hold today.

Another event in my life that has influenced my personality was when I first joined the gymnastics team. I first joined the team in the 4th grade, and I am still on the team/plan to stay on the team until I finish high school. Gymnastics has taught me so many things; everything from discipline to fighting through frustration. I am thankful for all the coaches I have ever had to work with because they have all taught me the importance of failure and getting back up. I firmly believe that gymnastics has overall taught me to be a stronger person (mentally and physically) and has also taught me how to make more friends. Furthermore, I am still a gymnast today, so my life would be completely different without that first day.

Lastly, my brother went to college when I was in 5th grade. He also got a job in Cleveland straight after college, and without him leaving, I would not have learned how to be as independent as I am today. When he left, my parents were always at work, and I had gymnastics so we were all fairly busy a lot of the time. However, this only made us grow closer as a family rather than farther because we had a healthy amount of time together. His leaving also influenced my life because I had to learn things for myself rather than learn from him because he was always gone.
