My assumption would be that their flavors differ greatly from those in the United States.

After further research, potato chips are a very popular snack item. The company Calbee is by far the most popular which produces many unique flavors such as "Salted Seaweed."

After further research, the country relies heavily on tomato paste which is imported from other countries.
