The evidence in the literature shows that readers theater helps to improve reading comprehension and fluency. There is a gap in the research and my own knowledge about the affects of readers' theater on student self-efficacy for reading. I have many struggling readings in my fourth grade class. If I implement a readers' theater intervention in my fourth grade class, I believe the students' self-efficacy for reading will increase. <br><br></div>]]></description>

Due to the flexibility of readers' theater, teachers are able to implement readers' theater in a variety of ways. According to the literature, readers' theater is used primarily to improve reading comprehension and fluency. Readers' theater improves reading comprehension and fluency by encouraging students read a text multiple times through the process of repeated readings. However, there is a gap in the literature about whether or not readers' theater can improve self-efficacy for reading. Students who struggle in reading display low self-efficacy and many students in my fourth grade class are struggling readers. There is a gap in the literature regarding the impact of readers’ theater on self-efficacy. Due to the overwhelming body of research that suggests readers’ theater assists struggling readers, I believe readers’ theater will also improve self-efficacy for reading.</div>]]></description>
