I am hopeful because I know I will always bounce back. No matter how hard life knocks me down, I will find the strength to get back up again. In my music, I use the minor key to express setbacks in life and the major key to describe keeping myself moving forward. I switch between minor key and major key frequently to describe life's ups and downs. In the final part, the increased rhythm articulates that the challenges have made me stronger and more resilient. I will always bounce back.

My song is an original piece based on my thoughts and feelings about graduating 5th grade this year. It has been such a special time during my elementary school years and I am grateful for the friendships that I have made and all of the teachers who have taught me so much. This song is dedicated to all of the students who are graduating this year. I AM HOPEFUL because we can take all of the memories and experiences with us as we start a new chapter together.

Second Chance

My music is titled “Second Chance”. I believe we all miss opportunities, and a second chance provides hope and a way forward. I have used piano and violin in this music and used a lot of other instruments to create an inspiring music with a digital spin to it. As I understand it, our future depends on co-existence and collaboration between humans and the digital world. So I wanted my music to reflect that.

Jellyfish

Inspired by moonjellies I saw at the Monterey Bay Aquarium, I've always admired how beautifully they swam around, seemingly unbothered by all sorts of visitors watching them. Jellyfish have survived as a species for over 500 million years. Imagine the amount of predators and environmental changes they must have adapted to in order to live on today. That's what gives me hope, if a simple brainless creature can survive in this world, why can't I?
