I am really happy with how it turned out.

What you have learned about yourself?
It was surprising to me that I am weak in communication.

How it will affect your plans to collaborate with teachers in the future?
Now that I know both my strong and weak areas, I will use this to my advantage. Working always on my weak areas and helping others in my strong ones.

Who is your audience?
Currently elementary teachers at Van Wyck Elem. But I tried to make it generic enough to share with any type of library.

How will you use this in your program?
When I move from media assistant to official teacher-librarian, I plan on sending this out to all staff.
Because P.S. I have candy. :)

I liked how this application looked, but sometimes it wasn't easy to use. I still really enjoyed my end product for this assignment.

I have also taken a personality test before in this program, and my results were similar. According to the Jung Typology assessment, I'm introverted, intuitive thinking, and judging. This description describes it perfectly. My reserved deminer can be off-putting to some people, but as I have explained to others in the past, "Don't judge a book by its cover." I'm a quiet person with a lot of knowledge to share once you know me.

My audience is high school students and staff. I also work closely with the middle school librarians here in our district. I plan to use this video by adding a link to our school library webpage to help promote my skills as a teacher-librarian.

I had a lot of fun creating this presentation. I chose to use a new tool and enjoyed the creative process of making this interactive photo.
Some things that I learned about myself through the Jung Assessment is that I am introverted, sensing, feeling, and judging. I feel like my reliability skills will be an asset to me as I work on collaborating with teachers, which I hope will open more doors to collaborate. Since I am beginning to think about potential school librarian positions, I will use this interactive photo on my cover letter.

I think it would be a good conversation starter between myself and them.

I found that the animations (which were really cute) made it more difficult to share the file. Maybe I picked the right path after all. lol.

How it will affect your plans to collaborate with teachers in the future?

This was a nice reminder that I have a difficult time saying no. So far, the majority have pointed to me being an ENFJ type.
It was nice to know that my cluttered tendencies are identified in being an ENFJ personality type. I did know that my need to do to many projects comes from being an ENFJ personality.
So far, knowing what type of personality I am, I have begun creating a weekly to do list, adding and subtracting from it when one assignment has been completed. It also helps me know how much is on my plate and what I can and cannot commit too.
My audience was for the elementary school I work at, especially the library I work at.
I will use this to showcase who I am as a staff member to my school, as well as use this as an activity with my older students, showcasing that their media coordinator is human as well.

Reflection: I wanted to try using animoto for this project. Sadly, the free version only had so many options for formatting everything. So, I feel it could have been better using powtoon, or some other thing to make a video from, but the lack of options also made it very user friendly, because it was very simple.

What I have learned about myself: Honestly, the personality tests didn’t tell me anything new about myself, maybe that’s because I have taken so many of them, but this assignment made one trait stand out more than ever, which is my stubbornness. When I began making my video with animoto, and realized it didn’t have all the features and versatility that I wanted it to have, I still kept with it instead of just finding something I liked better.

With everything I know about myself, it helps me better understand my weaknesses and how that may impact future collaborations with teachers. So, knowing those weaknesses can help me control them, so that the collaboration is a positive experience for everyone.

Audience: My audience is the staff at Diggs-Latham Elementary.

I will use this as a way of introducing myself to the staff since I was recently hired two weeks ago. This will make a great intro for the staff to get to know me, and hopefully want to collaborate soon.

Reflections on this project: This project allowed me to highlight the ways in which I can support the teachers at my school and helped me define my role for others in the school community. It was difficult to fit all aspects of my role and details about myself that I learned through the Jung Typology Test.

What you have learned about yourself?: The Jung Typology Test results showed that I’m an INFJ (Introvert-38%, iNtuitive-6%, Feeling-16%, and Judging-19%. I was surprised by my results, as I believed I should have a higher percentage on the iNtuitive and Feeling portions of the assessment.

How it will affect your plans to collaborate with teachers in the future?: My highest percentage was for the introvert category in the Jung Typology Test. This shows me that I will need to break out of my comfort zone and make a stronger effort to reach out to teachers in order to begin collaborating with them.

Who is your audience?: My audience for the infographic is teachers at Old Town Elementary School in Winston-Salem, NC.

How will you use this in your program?: I plan to post this infographic on the door of the media center and the teacher lounge area of my school.

Reflections: I think this was a really cool project. I loved being creative and sharing about myself. While doing this I was thinking about the staff and students that would be looking at it.

What have I learned? So I had previously taken both of the assigned personality tests for work, so those weren't new. However, upon further reflection and research, I did learn that I can(and often do) go a little overboard with trying to help others. I need to be better at thinking about myself and not letting my coworkers walk all over me.

I think this won't affect my plans for collaboration in the future. However, it will help me to have a balanced collaboration rather than one sided, which is something I know I often do.

My audience for this is my students and fellow staff members. I chose some new and popular books so that the students and staff can relate to me and the books.

I will add it to my already built website that the kids know how to access and use. It will be a great place to send them to find out more about me in their free time. I would also not mind using this as a lesson to help them get to know themselves and others better.

The strengths that I bring to the position of a school librarian is that I am very sympathetic to the needs and concerns of others. This plays an important role in guiding students through the chaos that is high school, whether that be academically or personally. With the results of the JTT test coming up as an ENFJ, I have one of the “strongest people person” personalities (Cherry, 2021). While this may be true of my personal life, I have a different preference in my professional endeavors. Cherry (2021) describes the ENFJ personality type as “warm, outgoing, loyal, and sensitive.” Although I do care about hearing others’ concerns, my drive for productivity and focus on outcomes makes me dislike small talk or other time-consuming activities unrelated to work. Because of this, I do present quite independent and as a leader. Because of this, I make ideas come to life and am skillful in making things happen.

Just recently I have collaborated with a teacher on Black History Month activities. While she relayed a lot of ideas she had, I came up with the steps to make it all come to life. This plays into the areas of highest need, which is getting students involved in the school and academics. Because we have such a diverse school, it is important to have events that celebrate different cultures and bring the students together.

The biggest challenge I see for myself is asking for help and ensuring that I communicate with my partner, the other media coordinator here. I can get overly excited and ahead of myself and sometimes fail to make sure I am keeping all the right people in the loop. To do so, I try to check in throughout the day and make him aware of my ideas and projects after they transition from the brainstorming stage to its production.

Overall, I would describe myself as driven and sympathetic while sometimes being too reserved when it comes to expressing my plans.

Cherry, K.

Reflections on this project: I have never been very artistic, so much so that I would consider using Canva as an artistic tool, so it was interesting to step outside my comfort zone. I've always been better with written words than images, but it's good to know there are tools to easily help any user maneuver unfamiliar grounds.

What you have learned about yourself: My results for the Hartzell Needs Assessment were interesting, because there was absolutely no clear category that I leaned towards. For every time I answered 1, I would immediately follow with a 5. I am honestly in favor of this analysis, because I believe my personality type is hard to assess and never easy to describe, so it's an appropriate result.

How it will affect your plans to collaborate with teachers in the future: I will definitely have more of a clear outline on my strengths and weaknesses moving forward, which will be very convenient when dealing with the numerous personality types of our teaching staff.

Who is your audience: primarily classroom teachers (K-5), but really any member of our elementary school staff.

How will you use this in your program: While I might not use this exact infographic, it is definitely giving me ideas on how to utilize this tool moving forward. I could potentially use this to communicate an annual "state of the library" address to reach out to any new staff members who may be unfamiliar with what I can offer them.
