 This quote shows that Beneatha is ambitious because she is focused on working to be a doctor other than anything. Beneatha does not want to be like the other woman who got married and became housewives. She was strongly minded and wanted to strive into being a doctor. When they say "I'm gon' work harder" it reminds me of Beneatha. She doesn't give up in what she believes in. She doesn't let what people say get to her. They had alike characters. For example i believed that Beneatha and Corey were very much alike. They strived for their goals no matter what people said to them. Te themes for Fences would be " Do whatever it takes to succeed your dreams"
and for Raisin in the sun is " No matter ow may people try and bring you down always stand up for yourself". 
 Beneatha and Cory both had many obstacles that they faced when they spoke out about their dreams. Cory had is dad who was stuck in is century. Beneatha had her family who told her to just get married and be quite. Yet they still pulled trough and stood up for themselves.
