With my daughter, my husband and I speak English, but she will be learning German in kindergarten (daycare) and will most likely be capable of outspeaking us both soon!

We read her children's books in both German and English every night which has also been helpful practice for developing our German understanding and pronunciation.

If we move back to the States someday, I hope to return to Spanish and learn it again as I would guess it is extremely helpful to know in most parts of the states.

If we move internationally again (which we plan to do at some point) I would want to attempt to learn the local language.

I still watch the majority of my shows in English, but often I put German subtitles on so that I am passively learning. Other shows I've enjoyed recemtly include All Creatures Great and Small, Parks and Rec, and Ted Lasso.
