The reinvigorating result of the electric energy is stereotyped by the lore of Frankenstein, where dead body parts of cadavers were assembled into a full body. But after the turn of the 20th century, due to a number of cases that today might have been termed simply “malpractice”, the Carnage Foundation formed a commission to review relevant data and results, which in 1910 simply imposed the discontinuation of such practice

THE COMEBACK OF THE ‘90s.

Things were slow to change. Despite the very early realization ofn the electrochemical nature of physiology down to cellular leve and important discoveries during the 80s, the electrotherapy made a slow, progressive but definite comeback within the 90s. Its applications, other than coping with cardiac arrest.
The CoI is caused by the different potentials of dermis and epidermis, and whenever conductivity is attained, as by rupture of the insulating tissue, current flows outwards, effectively short-circuiting the skin battery; there is a significant difference between the edges of the wound and points of the skin 3mm away, thus creating a lateral voltage gradient
THE APLLICATIONS:
Forms and methods:
There are two main ways to employ electrotherapy: the first option is to rush current by electrodes to the body, the setup usually being the injured body part being in between the electrodes or one of the electrodes.
The alternative is the “inductive coupling”, where the wounded member is exposed to suitable fields .
CONCLUSION:
The different formats of electrical stimulation and the extent of their accumulative therapeutic application are not exhaustively presented in this work.
The increase in healing function observed when specifically timed changes of the polarity of the administered current are implemented clearly demonstrate the preponderance of the electrokinetics aspect.

THE ISSUE IS IMPORTANT TO INFORM US ABOUT THE TECHNOLOGY.

TERAPHY

FROM THERAPEUTIC ELECTROTHERAPY TO ELECTROCEUTICALS: FORMATS, APPLICATIONS AND PROSPECTS OF ELECTRO STIMULATION.

Summary

Electrotherapy is defined as the study of the therapeutic applications of electricity. It comes from the Greek electro (electricity) and therapy (cure). And it is the branch of medicine that uses the passage of electric current through part or all of the body for healing purposes.

Although medicine has always focused on dividing each specialty, in recent years we have opted for an alternative treatment that is electrotherapy, a multitude of proven protocols based on electricity, the first concept "electroceuticals" that has its methodology of use.

In 1900 it was unknown territory electrotherapy, where they gave gold a therapeutic function when perhaps it was only a question of charge. Then came electrochemistry at the cellular level during World War II. The epidermis and ions secreted mainly by perspiration and thanks to the insulating effect of keratin, which in turn allows low current amperage currents along the skin (skin current).

Electrostimulation works because of its ability to stimulate cellular physiology and growth through the application of low-energy (field-current) electrical stimuli of similar intensity to the endogenous ones. Accordingly, it could increase the generation of adenosine triphosphate (ATP) by almost 500% and improve amino acid transport and protein synthesis.

Chronic ulcers (ie, ulcers that do not respond to initial therapy or persist despite adequate care) are prominent among conditions that respond well to ES. Lower extremity ulcers, attributed to diabetes, venous disease, or arterial disease, comprise a substantial proportion of chronic ulcers and may lead, if not successfully treated, to amputation or death. It is necessary to see what type of electrodes we use to not affect and generate an infection or in case of burns. Also see microflora, microorganisms.

The most important thing is to understand that the therapeutic use of electricity can be very sophisticated in terms of administration and therefore must be described, in terms of electrodynamics and electrokinetics, as well as biochemical compounds, to properly integrate it into the modern Therapeutics already Either as a complement or as an alternative to biochemicals. Extensive evidence supports a curve in the therapeutic dose-progression relationship, where the very low dose does not meet the therapeutic thresholds and the excessive dose is counterproductive, which justifies the notion of electrodynamics.

The proliferation of more sophisticated equipment has increased interest in the use of electrical stimulation as a complement to rehabilitation interventions, for their more frequent clinical applications. These machines have different wavelengths and allow you to select a wide range of parameters. They may include computerized imaging of the placement of the electrodes on parts of the body that facilitate specific diagnoses.

The availability of affordable small units to the patient at home has improved the effectiveness of electrical stimulation by allowing continued treatment.

TERAPHY
FROM THERAPEUTIC ELECTROTHERAPY TO ELECTROCEUTICALS: FORMATS, APPLICATIONS AND PROSPECTS OF ELECTRO STIMULATION.

The use of electricity in physiotherapy has occurred for many years back, as it was given as an empiricism.
The therapies were done next to the waterfalls because it was thought that the ionizing charge made the body and the people's mood better.
Also used metals, as these have a charge that is taught to be transposed to the human.
On the other hand we find the electrostimulation that tries to use static and direct electricity.

Was faced with cardiac arrest, pain and bone regeneration
The new area of electrotherapy was intended to explore the area of the epithelium but not bone or thigh
Epithelia are by definition
Regeneration of tissue of first importance; Failure to do so effectively meant conditions that threatened
Life through infections. As ulcers were becoming a growing problem, being in a way a civilizing ailment, the regenerative effect of electricity.
Human physiology is electrochemical in nature. A multitude of electro-dependent
phenomena are affected by external electric challenges, such as current influx or exposure
to electric fields and electromagnetic radiation and waves. The pulse of both sensor and
motor neurons and muscle cells is but one. The tuning of the heart is a second. Less well- known and far lower of intensity is the “skin battery”, a difference of potential between the
surface of the epidermis and deeper tissues of living dermal cells such as dermal and
subcutaneous ones . This potential is created due to the charged residues of
Annual Research & Review in Biology,
epidermis and the ions secreted primarily by perspiration and thanks to the isolative effect of
keratin, which in turn permits low amperage currents streaming along the skin (skin current).
Thus, whenever an external injury occurs, the streams of skin current are discontinued at
the wound site, and a Current of Injury (CoI) occurs in its stead; this current is not only
due to the electrical leaks through the wound proper, but also due to alteration in the
distribution and function of ion channels in affected cells, both possibly due to
depolarizations caused by the initial electric leak, which is thus amplified.
The CoI is caused by the different potentials of dermis and epidermis, and whenever
conductivity is attained, as by rupture of the insulating tissue, current flows outwards,
effectively short-circuiting the skin battery; there is a significant difference between the
edges of the wound and points of the skin 3mm away, thus creating a lateral voltage
gradient . This very current of injury is thought to attract regenerative and immune cells, to
activate them by regulating the signal transduction through membrane pumps and channels,
to affect changes in gene expression, to upregulate the metabolism and to induce
extracellular matrix production and emplacement; once healing has reached the re- epithelization level, isolating dermal and epidermal areas, the current of injury stops .
In the event the CoI is discontinued, for example due to the isolative effect of necrotic tissue
in the wound bed, without the healing having been accomplished, the latter is impaired and
this fact lies in the heart of chronic wounds .
 Differences of potential have been
discovered across the cell membrane (“action potential”), since the distribution of
electrolytes (especially K+
) differs at the two sides of the cell membrane. These differences
produce a Voltage of 100 mV , with the intracellular environment being more
electronegative due to phosphates and carboxylates in glucans and membrane surface
proteins or protein moieties. These two kinds of potential differences practically duplicate
abovementioned respective ones of the skin. . The action potential is the principle of the transportation function of
the cell membrane: it is known to trigger cells into transmitting signals (electrical signals in
the form of a cascading depolarization) along the plasma membrane for excitable cells
and into secretion of cytokines, hormones and other chemical signals in non-excitable cells.
Electro stimulation works because of its ability to stimulate cellular physiology and growth by
applying low energy electric stimuli (fields-currents), similar in intensity to endogenous ones
. According to , it could increase Adenosine Tri-Phosphate (ATP) generation by
almost 500% and enhance amino acid transportation and protein synthesis. This leads to
extracellular matrix production, cell proliferation and neogenesis of different tissue types.
The upregulation of different cell types and oftheir metabolism results in increases in
oxygenation levels and membrane permeability, thus enhancing damage control and
restoration in tissues .

There are two ways of applying electrotherapy: 1. is to run current through the electrodes to the body, where the lesion is placed between the electrodes. 2. is called "conductive coupling" where the affected part faces several suitable fields.

What is sought is to incorporate these types of therapies nowadays since with the technological advances that we can not be outside, but on the contrary.
The use of electrotherapy is very sophisticated and does not benefit in many ways we can incorporate it and the therapies that we are going to realize.

GAVILAN FERNANDEZ JHONATAN (RADIOLOGY)Thrombectomy - interventional therapy forTreatment of strokeParticular treatment strategyStroke is currently one of the most common causes of death. Every year,17 million people suffer from stroke, 70% of whichAverage income. [1] older people are in danger, The world population represented by this age group is steadily increasing. Health care systems will face a number of future costs, which means that hospitals will have to focus on treating patients with stroke and improving the treatments they offer. Perform the most appropriate thrombectomy - and all are supported by Siemens Technologies.Medical science distinguishes two types of stroke, ischemic andhemorrhagic. The most appropriate countermeasures depend on the type of stroke.Ischemic cerebrovascular accidents are common because they represent 80Of the cases. These cases, an occlusion caused by a thrombus (blood clot)Leaves the brain insufficiently supplied with blood. TheOxygen and glucose needed to supply energy can no longer reach the brain andBrain cells begin to die. Every minute without treatment after a stroke.Irreversible cerebral infarction may be the result if vascular occlusion can not beWithout delay. This implies that the neurologist injects a solution (thrombolytic agent) intravenously. ThisContains drugs that activate a naturally available degradation enzymeInside the body. However, if the blood clot does not exceed eight millimeters. [2] Furthermore, ifMore than four and a half hours have elapsed since the onset of stroke,This drug increases cerebral hemorrhage, which puts the patient inAdditional risk. Because the drug has a powerful anticoagulant action andIt can also dissolve scar tissue.

Or that may affect some type of organ, but the doubt was answered with all the studies they did and said that using the right way and in the low doses would do no harm as long as there is no injury or pregnancy, could see an Abortion or that the child be born with defects or diseases. The currents were successfully used during the 19th century
By doctors to treat broken limbs and psychics [4-6], the introduction of what is now.
Called Electro stimulation (ES), which is the use of electricity to cause physiological results.
2. THE BACKWARDS OF THE 90
Electrotherapy made a slow, progressive but definitive return in the 1990s.
They were able to cope with cardiac arrest, including: managing pain,
Bone regeneration and various athletic problems, such as pain relief
Such applications did not gain any decent name for electrotherapy,
The new area that electrotherapy was destined to explore is still within the scope of the time the focus was on the epithelium, not the bone, nor muscle. Epithelia are by definition a regenerating tissue of primordial importance
3. THE OPERATIONAL ENVIRONMENT
Human physiology is electrochemical in nature. A multitude of electro-dependent phenomena are affected by the challenges of electrical exteriors, tales such as influx or actual exposure to electric fields and electromagnetic radiation and waves.
4. APPLICATIONS
4.1 Forms and Methods:
Currents, Fields and Intensities Two of the main ones to use electrotherapy: the first option is to run the Electrodes to the body, usually configuring the part of the injured body between the electrodes or one of the electrodes that are placed inside the bed of the Wound (in external wounds) And the other in its periphery. This approach is called "conductive coupling"
4.2 Diseases, Indications and Contraindications
4.2.1 Indications Chronic ulcers
They are prominent among diseases that respond well to ES. Lower Extremity ulcers, attributed to diabetes, venous disease or arterial disease.

Thrombectomy - interventional therapy for
Treatment of strokeExisting treatment for ischemic strokes
A new treatment allows for a longer response time and greater treatment Numerous studies support the positive results of thrombectomy Siemens offers a wide range of imaging systems, each tailored to the needs of the client.
Strokes are currently one of the most common causes of death. Each year, around 17 million people suffer a stroke. Elderly people, in particular, are in danger, health care systems will face a number associated costs in the future, which means that hospitals will have to focus on the Treatment of patients with stroke and continuously improve the treatments they offer.
Imaging systems can be combined in three different ways to identify the most appropriate treatment and, as appropriate, perform the most appropriate thrombectomy - and all are supported by Siemens
Medical science distinguishes between two types of stroke, ischemic and hemorrhagic.

Bleeding spells are caused by a ruptured blood vessel that causes a brain hemorrhage and, therefore, an increase in intracranial pressure. This presses the brain against the skull, which leads to the death of more and more brain cells if the patient does not treat. Treatment of a hemorrhagic stroke involves measures for intracranial
Ischemic strokes are much more common, however, since they account for 80 of the cases
Brain cells begin to die. Every minute without treatment after stroke
Death of two million brain cells, and extremely severe disabilities result.
Thrombolysis is currently the standard procedure for an ischemic stroke. This implies that the neurologist injects a solution intravenously. This contains drugs that activate a naturally available degradation enzyme inside the body and reopen the vessels. This procedure is only done if the blood clot does not exceed eight millimeters
This drug increases the possibility of cerebral hemorrhage, which puts the patient at additional risk. Because the thrombolytic drug has a powerful anticoagulant action the state of the art Stent Retriever used in most cases nowadays allows the blood clot to be removed intact. This is done by expanding a wire mesh inside the clot and locking it completely. The clot can then be mechanically drawn from the vessel, allowing faster reopening of the vessel, especially in cases of large blood clots that would take a long time to decompose
Three imaging options when driving thrombectomy Imaging systems such as computed tomography (CT) or magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) are indispensable to identify the cause and the opportunity to treat a stroke as soon as possible.

Electrotherapy in the mists of time: since the nineteenth century and to the decrease of 1900
speaks to us of empiricism on the therapeutic use of electricity is detectable long before their discovery and Hippocrates prescribes the electrical pulses of fish torpedo black to analgesia, while the Egyptians used the Nile catfish similar . In addition, during the XVII century, doctors were loaded with gold leaves to resolve lesions of smallpox, the popular belief was that the gold, the noble metal, exercises the therapeutic function, but it could have been more a matter of load to the metal.
And in the return of the '90s things were slow to change. Despite the very early realization ofn the electrochemical nature of physiology at the cellular level and important discoveries during the 80s, electrotherapy made a slow but progressive final return within the 90s. Its applications, apart from face a cardiac arrest, includes: management of pain , the regeneration of bone and various issues athletiatric , such as the relief of pain after the training , the improvement of the training (as the belts for the construction of ABS) / replacement of training and the rehabilitation of injuries;
Operating Environment speaks to us of human physiology is of electrochemical nature. A multitude of electro-dependent phenomena are affected by external electrical problems, such as the current influx or exposure to electric fields and electromagnetic radiation and waves. The pulse of both sensors and the motor neurons and muscle cells is but one. The tuning of the heart is a second. Less known and much less of intensity is the "skin" of the battery, a potential difference between the surface of the epidermis and deeper tissues of life such as dermal cells and subcutaneous dermal
applications are divided into two as:
ways and methods: currents, fields and intensities
There are two main ways to use electrotherapy: the first option is to rush current by electrodes to the body, the configuration is usually the part of body injured in between the electrodes or one of the electrodes are placed in the bed of the wound and the other at its periphery. This approach is called "conductive coupling" , as the hardware leads the electricity to the part of the body treated.
Ailments, indications and contraindications
this indicated in:
chronic ulcers , ulcers of the lower extremity, attributed to diabetes, venous disease, arterial.
The treatment modalities and wound care therapies are often selected on the basis of the ulcer, features, as well as the factors of the patient, the previous treatment, and the provider of choice

contraindications
is modalities are considered relatively free of contraindications in the decade of the 90s: suggests caution during pregnancy because the electrical stimulation could affect the endocrine systems of control and cause an abortion; the last was contraindication for the use of cardiac pacemakers demand type.
The microbial dimension
Another issue is the interaction of electrostimulation with the microflora. The microorganisms of economic interest have been tested adequately - but not extensively- with a series of electrification formats to test the stimulus or prohibitive effect and possible between borders and factors.
Wireless microcurrent stimulation (WMCS): THE NEW
APPROACH INES
tells us that is traditionally done by applying on the fabric of the pin or dressing pads connected by wires to a power generator.

From therapeutic Electrotherapy to Electroceuticals: Formats, Applications and Prospects of Electrostimulation

- Electrotherapy

Electrotherapy involves the application of electromagnetic energy to the body (in different ways), in order to produce biological and physiological reactions, which will be used to improve different tissues when they are in disease or with metabolic alterations of the cells that Make up such tissue, which in turn form the human body.

It can also be said that electrotherapy is the modality of Physical Therapy in which electricity is used to achieve biological and therapeutic effects.

It is based on the phenomena caused in the tissues by the passage of electricity.

Basic concepts

• Conductors, insulators and semiconductors: The flow of electrons in a substance depends on how closely the electrons are joined. Just as the atoms of a substance have their electrons.

Therefore, the electricity would be easily displaced by these substances. These materials are called insulators (bodies that oppose the passage of electricity).

Materials that have loose atoms easily lead an electric current, these are called conductors (susceptible to transmit electricity).

There are few materials that weakly conduct electricity, but are very controllable.

• Electrical forces: Force is the one that causes static adhesion, it is also the force that holds atoms and molecules together. The basic rule of electric forces is that: different charges are attracted and equal charges repel each other. The cargo is expressed in the international system at Columbio (C).

• Polarity: It is the ability to have two opposing charges at the poles. The free ions of a conductor flow from an area with excess electrons (negative polarity) to an electron-deficient area (positive polarity).

The cathode: It is the negative pole of an electric circuit.

The anode: is the positive pole of an electric circuit.

• Voltage: It is the driving force that induces the electrons to move of an area with excess to an area with deficit. It is also known as current voltage that circulates between two points, causing the movement of particles with charge. Or as, the potential difference, which is measured in Volts (V).

• Intensity: The amount of electricity, that is, the number of electrons passing in a second. It is measured in amps.

• Resistance: It is the property of a conductor that is characterized by the opposition it presents to the passage of charged particles. That is, resistance in electrotherapy is the opposition of bodies to the passage of current. It is measured in OHM Ohms.

• Power: It is the unit of power that refers to the work done by the electric charges when moving from a high point of potential to a lower one in the unit of time. It is the product of the intensity by the voltage.

• Hertz: The amount of frequency in the currents. In the direct current the Hz is equal to pulses seg, in the alternating current the Hz is equal to cycles seg.
Classification of currents in electrotherapy

1-According to effects

• Electrochemical effects

• Effects on nerve and muscle

• Sensitive effects

• Effects by energy supply to improve metabolism

2- According to frequencies

• Low Frequency: from 0 Hz to 1,000 Hz

• Medium Frequency: from 1,000 Hz to 20,000Hz

• High Frequency: from 100,000Hz to 5MHz

3-According to waveform

• Direct Current: It is a single-phase current, either continuous or pulsed.

• Alternating Current: It is a pulsating biphasic current.
