         <description><![CDATA[<div>Eta Carinae are actually 2 stars  (Eta Carinae A and B) located about 7,500 light-years from Earth in the  constellation of Carina covered in the Homonculus nebula that were discovered in 1991 (original image on internet). Eta Carinae A is 90 times more massive than the sun while B is 30 times as massive. Due to the eccentricity in B´s orbit, every 5.5 years, A and B as close together as Mars is to our sun. The nebula shown here was the result of an very large eruption by Eta Carinae in the 1840´s. The stars exhibits strange behaviors because the stars weren't destroyed in the ¨supernova¨ that create the Homonculus Nebula, they also lost some of their stellar mass. Additionally, when they are close, their spectral signature radically changes from UV to much longer electromagnetic waves. Eta Carinae A, the larger star, could erupt into an actual supernova at any time.</div>]]></description>
