The article "Telling our stories" explains how the educational system in South Africa could benefit from making kids tell their own story. This concept may sound simple and conventional to many, but this could actually make the difference. Kids need to be able to know where they come from and the history of their ancestors in order to create a sense of belonging to their community. Through this strategy, kids are going to be able not just to reconstruct the past, but to interpret it and understand where they come from. This technique could really improve the history skills and they are going to make personal reflections that are going to end up in understanding history both intellectually and emotionally.

This article reflects how the racial differences banned people of meeting each other even in their daily life. These are memories of a little indian boy who shares his experiences with the indictments of separate education, also he explains how he was raised to be loyal to the kingdom, even if that meant his rights were ignored. People were raised to be citizens of a colony not from the world, they were completely isolated from the reality in which they were living. These people believed that the kind of oppression they were receiving was normal and that they should be okay with it. After seeing how much different was the education and life white´s were receiving, he started to question himself what he did to deserve such difference and separate living. He drawn his attention to the process whereby exploitation and domination are imbibed to races that were considered different. He started looking at the colonizing times and he saw that the oppression was really old for himself and and many others.

The article "To Counteract The Legacy Of Apartheid" explains how the educational system has to be renewed and how the government has to learn of past experiences in order to create a new effective educational system in which apartheid ideals have completely left aside for ex: " include changing the composition of students, academics, and administrators, as well as the syllabus and curriculum, and establishing criteria to determine relevant research programmes and to judge excellence in our particular contexts of need and challenge." and all these ideas of the apartheid regimen should be left out in order to Africanise schools

He expresses that the values in his education changed due to the fact that he wasn't white and he had not the privilege of this race.
