Umiko uses the word confidence to describe the work she created. She notes that this is a full body, fictional character. She depicts him femininely in order to represent the confidence that the character has in regards to his own gender identity.

This artwork is similar to my own, in the sense that rendering and colour has taken place quite a lot. The background is plain, the artist noting that she prefers it this way in order to give the character a chance to stand out fully, which is also my view in regards to backgrounds in my artworks as well. She puts a lot of detail into the skin, and into the presentation and personality of the characters she draws, which is similar to my work also.

Orengiicha describes this work to be quite impulsive and sudden; They mention simply feeling the desire to create something like this, and that it came with no plan. They are rather self critical towards it, and note that their colour scheme is quite different in this artwork compared to their others, which presents bright, saturated colours.

The artist's work is similar to my own, in the sense that they focus very much on the anatomy of the human they are drawing. They emphasize muscles and tendons, which I do also. As well as this, this artwork displays an animal/human hybrid, which is a theme that I cover quite a lot in my work. On a level, as well, I relate to her in the sense that she is self critical of her own artwork. It is a digital artwork, and focuses primarily on the details of the face, while also briefly designing that of the clothes on the shoulders. They mention that the brushes they used in this artwork were new to them, making the work fairly experimental in comparison to their others. They often establish that they are a realism artist and, although they are able to draw anatomy in similar detail, they have a great preference for rendering the details of the male face.

Dawit has always been a huge inspiration to me, primarily because we share the same preference for portrait-based artworks. Their focus is semi-realism, with the occasional usage of cartoon-based aspects, particularly in the clothes and the hair. The goal of this organization is to promote the artworks of such artists to bring light to the issues they all face as a result of their hardships and social difficulties, as well as allow for artists to create and work in a supporting environment with like-minded artists as well. Their target community is those aged 8-25, mainly those who are disadvantaged by experiences of exclusion/alienation from mainstream education, mental health issues, behavioral issues, social isolation, drug/alcohol misuse, childhood neglect/abuse, contact with the judicial system, unemployment and geographic isolation.

Artists get involved by contacting Visionary Images directly. They work to collaborate with each other on all processes of the artworks: Idea generation, development and production.

I created this semirealistic artwork digitally, primarily because his character was quite impactful for me. I found myself relating to him in an intense amount, and appreciated how well-loved his character became across of social media and the internet overall.

With a digital medium, I used the program ClipStudio Paint to create this portrait. My interest in art had been prominent ever since I was young. My Nana, having 11 grandchildren, made a habit of collecting the drawings we had done for her. The smile on her face upon receiving a new artwork was motivation enough for me to consistently create art.

People Or Events That Influenced My Art:

I was always an annoying younger sibling - My older sister is, and always was, a fantastic artist. Wanting to copy her in every regard, she inspired me just as much as my Nana did. She consistently assured me that there was more to the art world than realism, and helped me develop my style more than anyone else did. As well as this, my sister was the one to introduce me to anime. My style has always been influenced by this style.

The portrait was based off of a photo of her, and resembles our terms of distance. She lives in the UK, and so this portrait was created and made for her to highlight how much I appreciated her. Due to this, the theme of the artwork is undeniably associated with love and warmth and care., as well as addressing her inner and outer beauty.

A digital medium was used with this artwork as well, a focus on harsh highlights and soft brushes to enhance the features of her face, as well as singular strands to show the individual strands of her hair. He was created when I was in a bad place. His character primarily focuses on distaste towards himself, and his insistence on isolating himself as a result. I used a more realistic approach for the details of his eyes, and a less detailed approach for the remainder of his features. This was done to enhance his internal emotions, despite the otherwise calm demeanor of his expression. The theme of this artwork, having revolved around the negative aspects of his personality, was more of a sad one; Relating to his sadistic approach with both himself and with others.

Digitally created, this artwork was made with soft brushes, excluding the harsher brushes used to enhance the eyes, and assist them in standing out to some degree. To do this, I will initially need to scope out a space that is suitable. Several things need to be taken into account, particularly lighting and access to at least two power sockets. These need to be in comfortable reach, while also not being in direct eyeline of the sun. It is essential that my space is comfortable an organized, as well as flat and sturdy. I would need to move my desk into the space I choose, and ensure I have a comfortable chair, as I will be sitting in it for prolonged periods of time. Cleaning the space is important, and will need to be done before, Lastly, setting up my devices in the spot I choose.

This is attainable, and will assist in protecting my health while I work on my artworks. In the long run, this will ensure I am not in any pain when seeking out a career in art.

This goal can be done within a few weeks, and will be started before the end of 2022. This is an attainable goal, though will be a little bit of a challenge, due to my struggle with motivation. Regardless, it will assist in making my hobby a constant habit, and thus will prepare me for a future in freelance work and meeting deadlines.

Dawit_Min.Kim is an artist that I gained a lot of respect and inspiration for over the past few months. I used his use mid tone and blending in the skin to allow for a more realistic view in my artwork. As well as this, I used his technique to render things like fabric and cloth to ensure my characters look complete and polished.

2. Orengiicha is an instagram artist that I found had brilliant expression. I used their artwork as an example for my own to study fluidity of portraits and to ensure my characters looked lively and humane as opposed to stiff. I used their thick brush strokes around the eyes, as well as their technique in terms of simple lines for the nose and mouth and heavy detail in the eyes.

3. I have used Umikochannart's heavy lineart technique when sketching my initial designs or whenever I want a more cartoony look as opposed to a rendered one. This has been useful in my study of anatomy and clothing. As well as this, I used her technique of adding detail with patterned brushes. For example, using a brush designed for individual blades of grass as opposed to drawing each blade individually. This also applies to lace and buttons in clothing, details in socks and textures in pants, ect.
