That they have a good coach because he found ways to be able to communicate with them so that they could get more wins instead of losses. And it help their performances because they didnt have to take their eyes off the ball so much. The text states " he used an interpreter on the sidelines to convey messages to the players on the court."

Cook was very upset about this perception. He told his team that they were confusing deaf culture with a culture of losing. He said they needed to build a winning culture.”

This shows that the players think they are losing because they are deaf but they are just confusing being deaf with losing.

The reader can infer that the relationship between the team's attitude and their performance depends on Cook learning sign language and their attitude being positive. In the text it states, "Then Cook began to learn sign language, and he used an interpreter on the

sidelines to convey messages to players on the court." This evidence explains how Cook learned sign language and tried to help they become better players despite they being deaf. in the text, it explains "The team’s efforts began to show positive results. In the 2009–2010 season, the

Bison finally achieved a winning season of 14 wins and 12 losses, the team’s

best record in 10 years." This evidence shows that they improved a lot by Cook learning sign language and giving better instructions.

The reader can infer that the team’s attitude and their performance shows that whenever Coach Cook got an interpreter and he and his team used certain signs to play the games it improved their performance because they were able to understand each other without a lot of complication to the team. The teams attitude was effected by this in a positive way because once the team started to win the teams efforts began to show positive results. IN the 2009-2009 series.

The reader can infer that the relationship between the team’s attitude and their performance where related because at first they thought that being deaf was a large disadvantage and they did not have great attitudes and it lead to losing records during the season, but then they started to realize that they could use sign language to their advantage and started to have a better attitude about it which resulted in winning seasons. In the text it states “He told the team they were confusing Deaf culture with a culture of losing. He said they needed to build ‘a winning culture.’”
