According to Google, Hansberry thinks positive about the American Dream (AD).

In my opinion, however, this positive side is only partially presented in her book. As she portrays the discrimination of the black community, even though this limits the AD and the capability to live it out. (Act 2, Sc. 3, p. 117-118)

As this represents a problem of all main characters, Hansberry uses them to show different ways of breaking through this "Border".

Looking at Beneatha, as an example, she wants to be a doctor. Claiming this over and over again and fighting with the right mentality makes most of her environment believe in that outcome. (Act 1, Sc. 1, p. 50).

But even in this quotation, the positive thoughts are small, as other problems like the inequality of men and woman are presented.

However, if we take the characters' dreams into account, it can be said that at the beginning of the play, everybody has a different dream. Walter wants to open a liquor store, Beneatha wants to become a doctor and Mama wants to have a house for her family.
During the play, they all experience different things. Walter's friend steals his money and Beneatha gets to know Asagai.
More and more, they realize that they have false dreams and that other things are more important.
Mama is the only one who believes in a better time. Her faith in her children makes her strong and at the end they all remain happy.
Thus it can be assumed that Hansberry believes in the American Dream.
