<title>&quot; We can take care of our own&quot;...&quot;We don&#39;t accept handouts from anyone&quot; (pg. 159). The reason I chose this quote was because it has all the criteria for this theme it shows them denying help from the charity drive that the school has and it shows us how the mother believes that they can provide clothes for their own children.</title>

<title> &quot; You should never hate anyone, even your worst enemy. Everyone has something good about them. You have to find the redeeming quality and love the person for that&quot;(pg.144). In this book you will encounter a lot of the family fighting over something and end up forgiving each other for it as the quote says you should always forgive someone for whatever they did, even if you feel like you cant forgive them find something that will make you forgive what they did.              </title>

<title>&quot; The doctor said bandages were necessary to prevent infection. Dad stared at the doctor. &quot; To hell with infection,&quot; he said. He told the doctor that I was going to be scarred for life because of him, but, by God, I wasn&#39;t the only one who was going to walk out of there scarred&quot;(pg.13). The theme of being unsympathetic is all spread in this book, especially for Rex and Rose Mary. The parents didn&#39;t think about others and how they felt, mainly their kids.</title>

<title> &quot; He began complaining that were all getting to soft, too dependent on creature comforts, and that we were losing touch with the natural order of the world&quot; (pg.106) The Walls family having alway been moving from town to town but now that are settling in Phoenix the city life is getting to Rex wall. He dislikes that he constantly has to keep himself in check and not break any law/rules. Being accustomed to doing whatever he what out in the wild makes this change a challenge for him.</title>

<title>&quot;I was even more worried about the baby inside Mom&#39;s swollen belly than I was about her.&quot;(pg.43). Jeanette&#39;s family is very chaotic. An example of chaos and order would be when Rex chases down his pregnant wife, Rose Mary, with his car. I believe the kids are what keeps the family in order because if it wasn&#39;t for their screaming, Rex would&#39;ve done something dumb. </title>

<title>&quot; That&#39;s right,&quot; Dad said. &quot; No one else owns them. You just have to claim it before anyone else does, ... &#39; Claiming a star as your own has every bit as much logic to it.&#39; &#39; I want that one,&quot; I said. Dad grinned. &quot;That&#39;s Venus,&quot; he said. Venus was only a planet, he went on, and pretty dinky compared to real stars. She looked bigger and brighter because she was much closer than the stars.&quot; (pg. 40)The reason I chose this to be my fantasy vs Reality was because you can&#39;t really claim something and make it yours. Rex had some wild ideas like making a glass castle and now wants to give them a star because he can&#39;t afford to get them real gifts. I think it&#39;s cute but it&#39;s all just fantasy. </title>
