Reading is honestly a hit or miss for me at time. It is something that I honestly can find so interesting when it grabs my attention. Like thrillers, horrors, love stories, all of that stuff but it just need to have me hooked in the first couple chapters in order for me to like it. I normally don't read much aside from stories I may find on the internet, like I said I could read anything as long as i find it interesting. I like to use my phone and especially on my computer to read things, but it is normally every blue moon that I actually read like a novel or a story. For writing I have always had a sort of passion for writing or to let my feelings out or to even just create my own stories or scripts for ideas I have in my head for skits. The only thing is I always have doubted myself because of my writing because I struggle trying to convey emotion into my writing or to have people try to relate or connect to my writing. I normally use my laptop and phone to write my ideas down. I don't typically write down anything big, but just write down some ideas in some notes.

Right now my relationship with reading has been ok but during basketball season I would read everyday and even before my games to keep me mentally sharp before games. I enjoy reading books that are about being mentally strong because it helps me gain knowledge surrounding everyday life. Whenever I read I like to highlight and annotate important things. In terms of writing my relationship its very fifty fifty because I enjoy free writing and topics I find interest in. It's very hard for me to write about something that I have interest in. The one time I find myself writing is for school and when I write to God but I don't usually prefer that. The tools I use when writing is taking notes to highlight key parts I want to put in my papers. Another tool I use is to utilize grammarly to help finalize my papers but my real passion is more on the reading side.

At the moment I believe that my relationship with reading isn’t the strongest as I wish it was. Although I enjoy it I can’t seem to find the time in my busy schedule to get some reading done. I find myself starting books and leaving them behind after a couple of chapters. I find that when I did read I loved it! Mostly self-help books which allowed me to grow and become independent. I used to be able to have reading time as a great sense of relief it was a way for me to relax. Most of the books I have read were gifts. Which I believe gave me more of a reason to read. Since someone gave me it I believed it was for a reason. One can not picture how others see you which is why I strongly seen a book being gifted was for a reason. Now my writing relationship is great. I try my best to journal everyday. I see it in a positive way although when I write it’s about my feelings which may be all over the place it still allows myself to express everything. Usually I have a notebook where everything is written if not then sometimes I journal on my ipad.

Honestly I've never enjoyed reading it's really boring to me and just makes me sleepy, I'd much rather prefer audio books. I don't have a positive relationship with it but if I had to read I would like to read comedy or science fiction because those are my interests. I think to become a better reader I should be more open to trying new genres of book and maybe then I would like it , I enjoy popcorn reading when it isn't my turn. I do not like reading aloud or really any form of speaking in front of class. I'm working to get out of my comfort zone and using my voice to get the help I need . Becoming a better reader could help me not just in this class but in life.
words:133
Writing has never really been my strong suit but over the years it has become easier for me. I like writing if it's any topic because then I can really make up anything I want. I think writing can be a really beautiful thing because it allows you to use your voice without having to. Me and writing have kinda of a neutral relationship because I don't really enjoy writing essays and stuff because it's stressful and takes a lot of energy , effort , and thoughts to get started. I'm really into freewrite and journaling because it helped me learn how to process things alone and grow from them. In conclusion writing and reading are both key parts of our life so we should learn to enjoy them and or tolerate for our own benefit.
words:134

My relationship with reading right now is definitely complicated. My Literature teacher encouraged me to read but struggled to find the correct time. I was involved in Tennis and track and was taking 5 AP courses. All in all, my schedule was very dense and busy. However, I have a positive association with reading. I love feeling transported to another universe and like I'm living through a story. I really enjoy reading fiction such as thrillers, comedy, romance, action, and adventure. I normally read the books I would check out at my local library. My relationship with writing is very confusing. I've always enjoyed writing but I feel like due to covid I haven't been able to grow much as a writer. The type of things I write have mostly been narrative or argumentative essays. I have written a few short stories in the past and a handful of poems. I normally physically write a draft if not I may type it and continue revising it using highlighters. Online I have used turnitin.com.

My relationship with writing is more of a fifty fifty relationship. I enjoy free writing, where i’m given a prompt that is more lenient and I am able to write about what I want or more opinion based writing. However when it comes to organized writing, that’s my downfall. I struggle to stay organized and keep clear ideas, claims, or evidence flowing throughout my writing. I feel like I just get overwhelmed when I need to write essays so I get off topic and when it is time to read my writing it does not flow. I’m not quite sure why I do that or what tools I could excess to learn how to be a better writer but I am hoping that I will learn that in this class. In high school we didn’t really read books or write, I honestly couldn’t tell you what we did. So I think that impacted my writing skills because I wasn’t taught how to organize my thoughts and ideas into writing.

My relationship with reading is honestly a bit negative. I read slow and it’s hard for me to fully grasp the idea of what i’m reading the first time I read it. I can only read in complete silence or else I will become distracted and lose focus. So when I am assigned a reading it feels more dreadful because I know how long it will take me to read and fully understand, not to mention the annotations, prompts, and essays that follow the readings. I do like to read murder mysteries or subtitles on tv shows. When reading for fun I can do it and enjoy it for the most part. However when I am reading something that is assigned to me I procrastinate because I feel forced and it is hard to find interest in them.

I have recently been having a pretty good relationship with reading. But I think that has a lot to do with the fact that I read for enjoyment and it has nothing to do with school or anything academic. I have fun with reading and feel like it takes me to a different place. But when I'm reading because I have to, I tend to have a harder time doing it because I’m not really interested in the content. I usually read on my phone because it is very easy and Always have my phone with me. But I have recently been reading physical books which I sometimes feel more discouraged to do because it just seems like so much work but I still do and every time I have enjoyed it. I sometimes read on my kindle as well but I haven’t been able to as much because I have been busy. Overall I would say I have a pretty positive relationship with reading. It can sometimes be fun but other times it is overwhelming. As for righting I also would say I have a good relationship with it. I journal which causes me to do a lot of writing. Everyday I write in my journal about how my day was and things I did that day. Writing has become a way I can express myself without actually talking about it so I guess it has had a pretty good impact on my life. I do have a positive relationship with writing and I somewhat enjoy it.

I’d say my relationship with reading is beginning to grow more now that I have had time to actually dedicate to it. Sure I’d spend most of my time socializing with the many new people I am meeting as well as now doing work outside of class, I do allow myself to relax in my dorm for a couple hours and as I am relaxing I pick up on a series of manga that I am reading. Their stories captivate me and continue to find myself constantly flipping through the pages curious as to how the story is unfolding. I believe it has always been more of a matter of a story that actually interests me when it comes to reading, I am somewhat picky with that, but I truly find it as more or less of a hobby when I become invested with their page turners. Writing has always been an inspiration for me. I feel it has become an outlet for relaxing myself and processing my thoughts as well as being inspired by the media. I've fallen in love with storytelling and have various projects that are more or less short stories and ideas for potential scripts that I’ve always wanted to write.

My relationship with reading is very mixed. I haven’t read a full book in a very long time because I have been doing audios books mostly. I used to read a lot and was very good at it but I did it too MUCH at least that’s what my history teacher implied anytime I would rush to finish my work to go read a book I like. I would actually get in a lot of trouble for reading so I had a very negative connotation with it. So since I’ve stopped reading after being stopped so many times I just kind of lost the skill which makes me sad. Of course I can read “normally” but I just have no motivation to do it. At some points I hate reading. But I love knowledge. So yes I say very mixed. Writing on the other hand I dislike it more than reading. The reason being a bit dumb, but I dislike it because it hurts my hand, a lot. My hands are very important to me because I use them to do crafts and bake so when I came back from school with my hand sore and my middle finger with a giant red bump it didn’t make me happy. So I prefer typing but even then I just don’t like writing, especially informational essays because I have to repeat myself so many times without sounding the same. I want to get a better relationship with writing because it’s important especially for college.

Reading for me is something I still do to this day, usually whenever I walk to a destination and I don’t have music blasting through my ears. That's when I simply whip out my phone and read a chapter while walking. Terrible etiquette I know however I find with so little free time, walks are the best time for me to read and really appreciate the texts. Now the things I read aren’t the most educational or world renowned. They are easy reads, books with not too high a lexile ceiling so I can relax rather than rack my brain over the choice of words or feel the fatigue at the number of words in a paragraph.

As for writing, it has become something of a therapy tool and a purely educational tool. A way to convey thoughts, emotions, or simply to prove I know something for a grade. I like the creativity of writing and can write quite spontaneously with a large number of words as a result. But I write only for myself, as a means of expressing negative or heavy thoughts, or simply for an assignment. The pencil, the laptop, or the journal all of that is what I need in order to write in the end.

My relationship with reading is kind of complicated, I enjoy reading things on my own most of the time. But, other times if I’m being forced to read then I kind of just push through it so I get it over with. Some negative associations were when I was in middle school and they practically forced us to meet a word goal, this meant I had to read books in order to meet that monthly goal. Although there were incentives, it kind of just seemed boring because I was only doing it for the prizes instead of enjoying the book. If I read on my own, I like to read novels that pertain to sci-fi or romance. Sometimes I enjoy reading teen novels as well. My relationship with writing is also very complicated as I typically don’t enjoy writing. When I get a writing assignment I usually get irritated but obviously I still do them. I have neither positive nor negative associations. I think it’s just because sometimes I get lazy and I procrastinate on writing assignments so I dread doing them. Sometimes I do enjoy writing if it’s not related to a certain prompt or if I get to write about anything I want.
