Mukbangs are NOT an ethical form of entertainment. Mukbangs are wasting food for entertainment as not any humans need as much food as them. For example, Under the new law in China, eating influencers and TV shows that feature food eating competitions are subjected to a fine of up to RMB100,000 ($15,680). Restaurants are urged to offer different portions of the same meal and price them accordingly, and proactively remind patrons not to waste food. Even China has taken action to stop mukbang. Another example is Several mukbangers have been accused or admitted to spitting out food during their videos, despite the expectation that they consume the entire meal on camera. South Korean mukbanger Mon Bok Hee, was notably criticized for allegedly editing out instances of spitting. Some viewers have noticed inconsistencies in videos, suggesting food was removed at certain points, leading to accusations of manipulation and cheating. While not all mukbangers engage in this practice, it's a known issue within the mukbang community, with some individuals admitting to spitting out food to avoid overeating or to manage the large quantities consumed.

Yes, cafe-hopping may lead to unhealthy financial habits as if you cafe-hop too much, over time, your money would start to gradually deplete considering using too much money while cafe-hopping. This would then impact savings and other kinds of financial goals. There is an example, Yong Wei Kai, who cafe-hops regularly. To me, if he does this on a regularly basis, he wouldn't have enough money to pay for daily expenses such as groceries and bills.

Q3. ans: We think cooking does not hold significance for feminism. It does not represent our choice of life. Historically, it symbolized women’s oppression and confinement to unpaid domestic work. Women have spent hundreds of years fighting for their freedom. They finally managed to get freedom and did not have to be submissive to men in the years of the 1960s to 1980s, and that only represents the white women, whereas black women were still under the slavery of men.We have people like Dean Wither, a male feminist and debater, fighting people like Charlie Kirk, who still believes that men have power over women. However, cooking does not hold significance for feminism when there are many women in other countries who do not have the freedom to speak. Thus we feel that cooking does not hold significance for feminism.

Our question: 3. Does cooking hold significance for feminism?

Maybe. It really depends on the situation. Historically, cooking and domestic labor has been gendered and associated with women. But now in modern times, cooking is now a basic life skill. There are many famous and successful male chefs (Search "famous chefs" on google, majority are male.) , whereas famous and successful female chefs are rare and far between. It is quite bizarre how women are expected to cook at home while the majority of professional chefs are men. But now , women are free to choose whether they want to cook for the family or not.

This, of course, is thanks to feminism and the people who helped women be able to choose this freedom, but to say cooking holds any significant meaning or impact for feminism is a thing we hesitate to say. However, we do think feminism holds a significant meaning FOR cooking, making it gender neutral and so women are not forced into staying at home and cooking

There are many cafes that put unreasonable prices for just a cup of coffee that could cost me about $2 but would cost about $7 at a cafe. In a nutshell, the prices would most likely drain some peoples money if they are not financially responsible.

No they are not, like every aspect in the world, Mukbang has it's positive sides and negative sides. However, the negatives outweigh the positives. For example, the large amounts of food that they consume can be very unhealthy to the body, making them again unhealthy amounts of weight. Nikocado Avocado is clear of example of this. In his videos you can see the negative effects that eating excessive amounts of food did to him, making him need a tube to help him breathe easier. Sacrificing one's health just for views and entertainment is something that shouldn't be normalised. There are also more downsides to this. Many children in poor warzones have absolutely no access to food. Take Palestine for example. If they eat so much food, they are taking for granted what they have, and is also not fair to the poor people in warzones who are barely alive from many years of starving. Most even have to eat grass to survive, and in extreme cases, dung. So no, Mukbangs are not an ethical form of entertainment.

Cooking all our food from scratch is suitable is the sense that it is energy efficient. Also, there are no unknown preservatives, lesser processed foods and packaging usage and its healthy. Cooking from scratch also can improve culinary skills compared to getting food outside, which is unhealthier. there is more oil being used, preservatives and unnecessary packaging. However, time is also sacrificed while choosing the healthier option.

overall, we think that cooking from scratch is healthier, but time consuming. It is better to alternate between eating outside and cooking from scratch.

The thing is, cooking doesn't have a gender. In fact, cooking is a way of survival. Without cooking, humans will have to rely on foods such as fruits and won't get to experience other sources of food such as meat.

The idea that woman should stay in the kitchen is a very misogynistic way of thinking even under the means of feminism. And regarding feminism, shouldn't judge women for living their preferred lifestyle such a stay at home mum.

Cooking should be something done by both men and women. Parents of children should take turns cooking and caring for children. That way, both can provide for their families in a way that benefits both especially in case if the other partner is sick or has sadly passed away. Children of a nuclear family can bond with their parent and see the significance of that parent.

There are many incidents where children from single parent households don't feel the connection with their parents especially when they have remarried. Simple activities such as cooking a meal for them is a sign of love that they can later show to their future companion and eventually, back to the parents as well.

Therefore, cooking has been a way of protest against misogyny and child neglect.

I think Mukbangs are not an ethical form of entertainment because, even though they are trained to do so, they still cannot force themselves to eat a large amount of food in one sitting to entertain their viewers, which can lead to numerous health issues. Therefore, we don't consider mukbangs a form of ethical entertainment.

No, cooking itself never had a gender assigned to it. In 'tradition', women were expected to cook because it was in their nature, but in the twenty-first century, we can cancel out the so-called 'traditional' expectations because men can work in society, so can women, women can cook, so can women. There was never a 'tradition' in the first place, its just a cage made of words and the thinking of others that traps our thoughts not letting it fly freely, in conclusion, women, as well as men can cook, its just the fact that if you like cooking or you don't like cooking, its a preference of choice.

With the resurgence of the social media trend, YouTube mukbang content continues to rise. Thus, the question is asked, " Are Mukbangs an ethical form of entertainment? Why or why not?" I simply refuse to invest any amount of concern into this matter. Unfortunately, I'm forced beyond my free will to answer this question of Mukbang. First of all, Mukbang is unethical and outright disgusting. To a certain audience, it is deemed entertaining to watch, or even relaxing. But I think that not only does this make a mess that forces the streamer to spend time cleaning, but it also showcases their saliva, showing how animalistic they are by eating this MUCH food. This brings us to our next point, the drawbacks of mukbang. It causes countless physical changes to the body( such as drastic weight change, obesity, high blood cholesterol, diabetes, etc), negative backlash from the community due to them making fun of the mukbanger's size(horizontally challenged). This can affect the mental welfare of the streamer, bringing him or her into severe depression or doing something even more extreme (suicide).

Next, Mukbang promotes unhealthy food, oftentimes food and money waste as well. Some mukbangers eat in restaurants and may not be able to finish them just like how they do at home, which wastes precious food and money, which other unfortunate people don't even have. Some might argue: "It's my own money, I can do whatever I want with it.", but it's disturbing. Mukbangers also usually eat unhealthy food from fast food chains, unintentionally providing sponsorship and influencing others to try these unhealthy foods, unaware of the consequences that these actions bring. So I'll ask you again, is it worth all these detrimental drawbacks for the sake of popularity on social media? I think not. Think again, you puny humans. Be intelligent, you fools.
