Touba Louba has a very young population, with over a quarter of the 10 million (27.8%) inhabitants aged 10 - 24 years old. On this basis, I suggest using TikTok as well as snapchat for the campaign as the social media channels are most popular with young people, especially females, as we saw in previous modules.

However, given the country’s stark poverty and inequality rates whereby 30.3% of the population lived below the poverty line (in 2016), with 6.5% living in extreme poverty, and noting that poverty mainly affects women, adolescents and young people, it would also be important to consider using more traditional forms of campaigning (posters, radio ads, community mobilisers) alongside social media campaigns to reach the most vulnerable. In Touba Louba, 44% of adolescent girls (aged 14-17 years old) don’t go to school because of pregnancy and/or child marriage, and one in five adolescents aged 15 to 19 has been pregnant at least once in their life. This probability is even higher in rural areas and among poorer and less educated groups, therefore complimenting social media campaign with traditional media is important to reach the rural, poor areas including girls who have dropped out of school (and may not have access to social media).

Recognising the population of Touba Louba is extensively connected, young, with a limited level of education (large drop-out percentage), also taking into consideration colossal youtube success (82%) in the country. TikTok would be the ideal platform to reach the audience. It could be interviews with OB/GYN, other adolescents who have already gotten pregnant lost and gains. Moreover, the use of memes through WhatsApp or Snapchat is easy to consume. Given the population's level of education, we would like to reach out. Complimenting social media campaigns with conventional media is necessary to attaining rural, poor areas, including girls and boys who have dropped out of school and may not have access to the Internet.

Tik Tok is proving to be one of the innovative platform that can be used to communicate to mostly young audience. Considering they are key audience for my campaign, I would consider using it.
Twitter is also another platform that I can consider. Twitter audience is diverse and this makes it a good tool to expand audience reach.

I understand that TikTok is a good options but initiative for video should be taken from Youtube as it will help in assessing the response from audience.

Considering previous data & Touba Louba’s population characteristics, Tiktok and WhatsApp innovative platforms can be used for the campaign given tiktok platform popularity amongst youth. Most social media users also access platforms via mobile phones making WhatsApp an ideal platform as well to engage the youth.

Twitter may also be ideal upon assessment. In summary, innovative platforms can be used to communicate / engage with the target audience / young people for this campaign.

Tiktok to capture younger audiences could have added value, provided one has to capacity to "adapt to the format". If so, it can be a very compelling platform, with content that seems very native and blends into the tiktok environment.

Twitter is always recommended in order to have more of a political impact. Decision-makers and media will keep a close eye on Twitter, but not so much on Facebook or Instagram. It is also a platform on which approaches do not have to be "discrete" i.e. pretending not to be influencing someone. It is commonly accepted for people to be sharing opinions and trying to influence other people on Twitter.

In this way, you can send messages from time to time and invite you to search for more information on other platforms.
