         <description><![CDATA[<div>For Example:<br>DUST BOWL 1930-1936<br>The Dust Bowl was an ecological disaster that forced millions of people from the Midwest to other areas of the country, particularly Western states such as California. It was caused by farming techniques that damaged the prairie grasses that held the topsoil and the drought. Farmers were primarily effected, losing their ability to pay their mortgages as the Dust Bowl ravaged their fields. The dust storms caused a health crisis, as people came down with "dust pneumonia," and were left with huge medical bills. The Dust Bowl worsened the Depression by causing people to become ill, hungry and homeless</div>]]></description>
