Before playing: Soak your reed in your mouth while assembling

While Playing: Keep your case underneath or beside your chair

After Playing: Swab out your instrument after playing

Process for maintaining instrument: Grease corks regularly by applying cork grease to the corks. Trumpet

Don’t eat or drink anything with a lot of sugar, since it’ll make valves and slides to stick, corrode water key holes, and the list goes on.

Have instrument case under chair, next to chair, or in a cubby/locker.

 Oil all three valves, only taking each out when you’re doing that one. Flute 
Before playing: Avoid eating/drinking sugar based foods and drinks.
While playing: Never take both hands off flute while sitting in your lap.
After playing: Always swab out your instrument after playing.
Maintenance: 1. Don't bend keys or rods by gripping your flute where posts & rods are now sticking out.
2. Use a corner of your cleaning cloth and push it through the eye opening of the cleaning rod.

 Proper instrument assembly 
While playing:
 Avoid taking both hands off your trombone, while sitting in your lap. 
After Playing:
Avoid using your foot/shoe to open the water key. Although tempting,
this will likely bend or break the water key over time, resulting in a needed repair.
 
Describe in detail one process for maintaining your instrument:
Remove the inner slide from the slide jacket, put the slide jacket aside. Use clean paper towel, wipe both sides of the inner slide thoroughly. Use a finger tip worth of trombone slide cream on each
side of the inner slide.

-Always soak your reedin your mouth while assembling your clarinet.
While playing:
-Avoid putting your clarinet on a music stand. This is unsafe, and will likely fall off.
After Playing:
-Always swab your instrument after playing. Keeping your clarinet dry is the best thing you can do to take care if it.

-Remember to grease corks regularly so parts can be assembled with case.

Clean excess condensation from instrument ALWAYS.

Instrument:tuba
Name one thing...
You should do before playing:empty out your spit valves, and make sure and check if anything need valve oil 

While playing:don’t open the spit valve or bad sound might come, and make sure when you hold your tube you are not holding it in a foolish position where if u let go it could fall and majorly damage your tuba/instrument.  

After Playing:empty spit valves, and put your  tuba down  in a safe place where it won’t fall or get damaged and prepare your case out to put away your instrument
