There are so many culture that customer will face when they use the hospitality service. They will like the culture or not depends on that person who use the service. Firstly the most culture that customer will face is language. This is because, someone will use their own language because they will feel comfortable rather than use other language. Sometimes they need to use other language depends on the culture they leave. After that, about food. Employees need to serve the right food for their customer. An example, japanese people like to eat sushi or their own japanese food so employees need to serve the japanese food not the western food. Lastly the culture in way of wearing. In hospitality industry, sometimes they need to follow the rules and regualations in that. They cant use their own dress.

Cultural variation refers to the differences in social behaviors that different cultures exhibit around the world. What may be considered good etiquette in one culture may be considered bad etiquette in another. There are many differences between the various cultures across the planet. These differences include the way people interact, what they wear and what they eat. Many cultural differences can be explained by the environment and resources of the region. For example, Japanese people eat more fish than residents of the United States because fishing is far more practical than raising land animals in Japan. Cultural variations become obvious when put side by side in large multicultural cities. The hospitality industry is one of the most multi-cultural industry. Not just customers, but employees also have diverse cultural backgrounds. It is important to have an ethical guideline to deal with cultural conflicts among employees. Different cultures’ backgrounds provide different moral conceptions depending on what is
most valued in the culture. Values can be defined as “Concepts or beliefs about desirable end states or behaviors that transcend specific situation, guide selection or evaluation of behavior and events, and are ordered by relative importance” (Schwartz & Bilsky, 1987, p. 551).

Within an organization there might be a great deal of systematic differences across cultures. Asian cultures are more collectivistic whereas Western cultures tend to be more individualistic. It is really important for managers to take these cultural differences into consideration due to their different characteristics, for example in terms of collectivistic or individualistic goals. Managers who understand cross-cultural behavior are an asset for any company in order to bring the best out of employees and be a coherent, consistent, and successful organization. cultural diversity management enables employees to become more knowledgeable of diverse employees and customers of the organization. It can help broaden their views and the way they approach problems in the future.
