This is when he accidentally made contact with the low voltage wire, and immediately went unconscious. His harness stopped him from falling and it is then when Thompson stepped in and started performing CPR.

The happening Truth tells the months of recovery Champion had to go through, and the thoughts that raced through Thompson's head as he had to make a minute quick decision. Just like how O'Brien uses in 'The Things They Carried' Rat's reaction to Curt's death, he focused on the external, and less on the internal.
