I am a sophomore majoring in nursing. Since I was a little girl I always enjoyed helping others. I see myself working in the medical field. I currently am a full-time student. And I have a part-time job at a restaurant. I love my job I get to interact with new people every day. Sometimes it is a little bit difficult because we get rid of customers but I’ve learned to be patient and gain communication skills. I’m a homebody person. I love having my stuff organized I know where everything is. My mom says I’m an organized freak. I just tell her it’s my hobby and I enjoy it. In my free time, I enjoy l to watch Netflix. One of my favorite series on Netflix it’s called her mothers killer. Netflix can be good and bad at the same time since all the episodes are there I’ll finish watching a series in less than three days which is not good.
A couple of other random fun facts about me is I am an only child and I’m a first-generation college student. Which can sometimes be very intimidated. But good thing I have older cousins that are always there when I need their help. I am 19 years old and have lived in Turlock my entire life. One of my favorite colors is pink. In this article, the author is trying to convey that immigrants in this packing company were treated unfairly and taken advantage of him and also The author explains how some immigrant workers were afraid to speak up about how they were treated during the pandemic. For example, still being able to have to go to work even though they were tested positive with Covid. One of the workers her name is Veronica she works for the company Primex she explains how the employees were treated during the Covid pandemic and how she and other coworkers protested so that they could have the same advantages as any other individual in any other job. In this company, people didn’t have masks and they sold them and they overpriced a mask for over eight dollars. Which I think is outrageous the mask should be provided for free. Like I had mentioned before workers in the Company were tested positive and still had to show up to work. Not only do they put other lives in danger but also put their lives in danger. The rhetorical analysis that I see is used as pathos. As the audience when I was reading I got somewhat emotional it made me put myself in their shoes. Having Family members that work in the field I couldn’t imagine knowing that they were treated the same way as in this company. It upset me that they would know that someone is contagious with Covid and still would send them to work knowing that they can put other people's families in danger. I look up to Veronica the way she set up not only for her but for everyone else she broke the silence and made her voice be heard. Overall this was a very interesting article to read. This article’s somewhat sad about also happy it’s sad because I can’t imagine a company treating their workers that way. But I say it’s happy because someone like Veronica stood up and is standing up for everyone else and what should be done right. Finally, I’m going to discuss the three final questions. The authority of the author I would say the level of the authority is pretty high this is a credible website the author is published, it’s from A trustworthy website. The value of the information it’s very important I agree that many people could relate to being themselves workers in a company or the field as immigrants. So I think the value of the information that is provided is very important.

  • A question that I have is why are juveniles being sentenced as adults even though they are not legally the age of an adult?

  • People say that kids as soon as they are born they know right from wrong. What’s your opinion of a 10-year-old boy who killed another 10-year-old boy at school.   • Share your strategy for reading: I use several of the strategies for example I skimmed, read the abstract, read the headings and images to get an understanding of what the article was going to be about. This also gave me the opportunity to get a better understanding before I began to read about what the article was going to be about. 
  • What was difficult about the reading process? I would say that the reading was somewhat difficult because of the language that they use but overall it was very direct to the point and the headings help separate and really understand every section.

The librarian also give me advice when searching she told me not to use so many unnecessary words when searching for my specific topic. She also told me that when searching to not get frustrated if it would not show or it would say an error. The librarian said that you have to someone play around and if you search a word and nothing showing do you a synonym hand switch the words around and see if something would pop up. Ever on my experience with ask the librarian was very helpful I appreciate that it is 24/7 it works at your convenience which is very helpful. In other words, you’re letting the public know of an individual that has passed away. Karen Zandarski A 47-year-old lady has passed away on Thursday, October 2, 2017, approximately at 1:55 PM. She was found near a local coffee shop in Modesto near her laptop. The case is still under investigation possibly was electrocuted. Karen was born March 12, 1974, she grew up in Texas and later on moved to California in a small town named Turlock. Karen enjoyed helping others she graduated from CSU Stanislaus and pursue her career in teaching. She became a professor at CSU Stanislaus was a very kind and caring person that enjoyed her job and enjoyed helping other students. Karen loved to travel she enjoyed nature and going on hikes. On her free time, Karen loves to take pictures of the outdoors and the beautiful nature. Karen lived to the fullest she did what she enjoyed which was reading and spending time with her friends and family. Karana will always be remembered as a great professor that impacted many students and encouraged them to keep on going and to not give up. Karen’s funeral will be on October 20 at Turlock Memorial Park at 4 o’clock. We will have time to share stories and remember this amazing woman that impacted so many lives.
