Additionally, I discovered that public hearing aids and electric wheelchair chargers are available for loan. However, a notice indicated that users must inquire at the desk for these items. While these services primarily target elderly individuals or those with mobility challenges, the information is divided into two notices, which may require users to move twice, causing inconvenience. If this information were provided all at once at the library entrance desk, it would enhance user convenience.

In the far corner of the library, I found “large print books” and “braille books” for visually impaired individuals. While the selection was limited, their presence was impressive. But, the library’s size made it challenging to locate these resources, and I ultimately needed assistance from the staff. Improved signage, such as large-print information or directional arrows on the floor, would facilitate easier access to these materials.

For the library to better support vulnerable groups, a deeper understanding of their needs is essential. Although the library offers various facilities for diverse groups, it tends to overlook the needs of individuals with low digital literacy, especially considering that it is a library that can also emphasize media usage. Incorporating illustrations of older adults enjoying digital resources could also help combat stereotypes and build confidence.

While the facilities and resources are well-equipped, clearer guidance would further enhance the user experience. By adding digital literacy education and straightforward instructions, elderly users and individuals with disabilities can gain confidence in using technology and actively engage with the library’s offerings. These changes could transform the library into a welcoming and supportive environment for everyone.
