According to our notes, electromagnetic radiation is a type of radiation in which electric and magnetic field move at the same time perpendicular to each other. that means they move at right angles. Some types of EM (electomagnetic) radiation include: visible light, gamma rays, and x-rays.

In recent years, there have been many studies to determine whether or not electromagnetic waves are hamrful to humans.. According to The World Health Organization, "the evidence for any effect remains highly controversial. However, it is clear that if electromagnetic fields do have an effect on cancer, then any increase in risk will be extremely small. The results to date contain many inconsistencies, but no large increases in risk have been found for any cancer in children or adults."

Electromagnetic Radiation is something we are exposed to every day. Whether it is by using our cell phone, cooking a quick meal, or listening to the radio, it is all around us. Based on recent studies, EM radiation has not been found to cause a significant increase in the number of people diagnosed with cancer. Therefore, we determine that the benefits of the numerous uses of EM radiation, like using gamma rays in cancer treatment, far outweigh the potential risks.
