It was a dark, gloomy, wet Monday evening at Greenwich primary school. The number on the Beaufort scale was at a 10 and all the students from Juniors to 6th class were hoping that the power would go out. At about 2:15 the power finally went out and all the students were excited to go home early. The rain was consistently pattering loudly against the windows. I remember seeing the news last night I didn't want to watch it but my parents were watching it so I had to. I remember the isobars and the forecaster saying " There will be gale force winds and the power will probably go out we are putting out a orange warning for tomorrow but it may get worse throughout the day". I don't like the weather but I know a storm when I see one. Back to school...... The visibility was really bad you couldn't see anything out the windows and we were all waiting for our parents to come and collect us.The teachers were taking record of who was gone home and who wasn't and I was one of the people who hadn't went home yet. Then, suddenly, whirling gale force wind broke the window. It was immensely windy. The amount of rainfall that was coming down was so massive that it was coming in through the doors of the school. And unfortunately for me there was only two of us in the room. Me and an annoying junior infant called Benny. He was crying so much that I tried to run out of the room but I couldn't because the rain had come in too much and it had flooded all the doorway. The teachers were outside desperately trying to come in but the couldn't push the door in because if the pressure of the water. I looked out the window and it was starting to snow. It was just like a perfect storm. That sounds like a good thing but it isn't. The window that had broke was letting in the cold air and it was getting chilly. It could've easily been -7 centigrade it has to be worse than the one in America the time. The water was rising and Benny wasn't helping it by absolutely balling his eyes. As far as i could've seen it was 9:50 meantime and the water would fill up the room by 10:00. I was getting scared for Benny as his Visibility was going ads his glasses broke due to the pressure. Just then i has an idea if we destroyed the windows it would give us some time. i told Benny to give me his shoe and i started banging on the window in hope that it would smash but at this time i think it was to late the water was rising up and me and Benny where ...going to died . but suddenly i saw a figre but it was all a dream.

It was a dark and stormy night out on the ocean. We were caught up in a perfect storm. I saw some people jumping over board because there was a twister coming our way. I told the crew not to jump trying to calm them. I remember when I was watching the news the day before the weather forecaster said nothing about gale force winds or the waves being high. There was no red computer simulation lines being shown either now. After we get through this, if i even make it i will never trust that weather presenter again. They should be known as the worst meteorologists ever. It was really foggy and there was no lighthouse or land in sight for all we know we could be heading straight toward a rock at this very moment. Now the knot distance was on 150. The sails were about to rip off. I yelled "TAKE DOWN THE SAILS... TAKE THEM DOWN NOW." But it was too late Greg my best friend had been trying to get get them down, but the visibility was poor. The sails had ripped and he was gone. I was the last man left. Determined I went into my cabin. The radar was being to beep most violently. The boat's satellite had been ripped clean off. What would i do now? I was shipping fish out to Greenwich. It was now 17:37 meantime. Suddenly..."AAAAHHH..." I screamed. A glistening white bird had landed in my face. A dove. A dove is for good luck so hopefully she or he gives us luck. The visibility was getting very poor with fog and a heavy mist. in my opinion its a 13 on the Beaufort scale and 13 isn't even on the Beaufort scale. The pressure of the wind was pushing down on the roof and so was the waves we had to try and find something to keep it up.We put a plank f timber to give it support. a few minutes later we saw an Island problem was the air presure was high and it was nearly impossible breath we got the oxegen supplies and threw them on or backs uh oh i think the hull on the ship is busted i think well just have to jump..... Me and Craig made were save nearly 2 seconds later the visibility is getting poor i cant see Craig oh no no there is a big tsunami coming i think were goners maybe not maybe......

One stormy evening i think it was about a eight on the Beaufort scale .It was -7 degrees centigrade. The forecaster said it was the worst storm we ever got, meteorologist's were screaming on the T.V "STORM EVERYONE HIDE IN THE BASEMENT JUST GET TO A SAFE PLACE", then the roof flew off the studio whipping her away from the studio too. Me my Mom, Dad and my sister were all worried my sister said "We... don't have a ..... safe...place" "don't worry i'll figure something out" my dad said but i don't think he could do anything this time. It was too stormy to leave the house plus the rainfall had hit a record of one litre per square centimetre. The visibility was very poor we couldn't see anything outside our window. Then my dad said "I'm going out there i need to find shelter and food" Mom Replied "No! it is too dangerous you must stay here" "i don't have a choice" and walked out the door. Immediately I was hit by a huge gust of gale force wind. It was hard to move and almost impossible to stand up straight. My first idea was to go straight to the shop but all the food was being thrown out of the broken window by the wind. Then I remembered, the Caseys across the road had a bunker. The last time I went over there we looked around the shelter. There was enough food, water and space for ten people. I ran over, struggling to stay u[right. when I made it to the back of the house I was met by a shock. A tree had fallen over onto the door of the bunker and it had brought down an electricity line with it. It would be impossible to touch the tree or the door without getting an electric shock.
I had to find another way in I just had to.This was the worst ever storm that had hit Greenwich it was no ordinary storm its was a perfect .This was a record breaking strom 340 knots and its wash averaging at 550 kmph Was there another way in i asked myself. I ran around the house trying to keep myself upright I [found a hole it was tiny i shouted done the Casey roared back up HELP ME.

Then i realised it was all a dream. I got up ate my breakfast I still couldn't get over the dream I had last night.

It was one of the stormiest nights of the year and weather forecaster Tom O' Connel was reporting from Greenwich "Tom how's it looking down there"shouted Jerry through his mike "were doing good Jerry I just finished"."I would say it is a 12 on the Beaufort scale, these are some of the strongest gales ever recorded". There is very heavy rainfall here I'd say were in for a hard night... The men on the ginormous cargo boat turned off the news. 'Brace Yourselves lads, We'll be getting a perfect storm tonight', said the captain grimly. 'Seriously, I wish I never got started in this shipping business', sighed one of the crew to his best mate. 'Everyone', exclaimed the captain Into positions'. You could hear the terror in his voice. 'Things could be worse, at least it isn't raining here....oh ..well.. I guess I spoke too soon', said the cheeriest of the group. 'UP THE KNOTS', roared the captain, barely audible over the howling wind. 'I'd say if we left a rain gauge here tonight we'd collect about a litre of rainwater!', as he spoke the rain got heavier and heavier. 'These winds are extremely strong captain are you sure that our ship can handle it', captain then replied 'My old Dolphin can survive anything, I hope'. The winds blew stronger and stronger every time they blinked. Lightning struck in the dark sky "There is now lightning in the sky" said Tom O Connel
