He wanted to let me know that he and his wife had been at the funeral in New Rochelle that was in the news as a "spreader event". He is a doctor and he said he didn't have any symptoms but hadn't been tested. At that point all, I knew was that I wanted to get home as soon as possible. I recall at the morning meeting, in the docent lounge a staff member telling us docents "you're volunteers and you don't have to report to your shifts if you don't want to". I recall thinking "why would I not want to show up for my shifts? I enjoy coming here and doing my work as a Getty docent". The next day I got an email from The Getty saying their docent program as been suspended until further notice. And then the next day I got an email saying the Museum has closed.
