         <description><![CDATA[<ul><li>Danny is a High school student. </li><li>Danny is right hand </li><li>He has severely burned in a fire </li><li>So, during his healing process he has to wear a pressure bandage to help reduce scaring </li><li> Danny is right handed but he was unable to write during this healing process</li><li>It affected him writing</li><li>He used different keyboards and had a defect time using them</li><li>But when he used on-screen keyboard Danny was able to locate the keys he wanted much faster the other keyboards. He was able to control the mouse using his right hand and could quickly and easily navigate from keys to key.</li></ul><div><br><br></div>]]></description>

         <title>Types Of Commercially Available Switches </title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div> <strong>Plate switch (both wired and wireless):</strong></div><ul><li>The switch comes in all size, shapes, and colors.</li><li>The students push down on the switch, which then activates the toy or device to which it is connected. Some of these are designed for the use of head, switch or foot switches or students knee or thigh.</li></ul><div><strong>Lever:</strong></div><ul><li>The flexible mechanism is activated by swiping lightly against the lever in one direction.</li></ul><div> </div><div><strong>Squeeze/pinch:</strong></div><ul><li>This thin plastic switch is activated by squeezing or pinching. </li></ul><div> </div><div><strong>Sip and Puff:</strong></div><ul><li>This switch operates by changing air pressure. The student blows into a tube for one activation and sucks air out of the tube for a second activation. </li></ul><div> </div><div><strong>Sensor:</strong></div><ul><li>A sensor switch is activated by slight muscle movement, such as wrinkling the forehead or thumb flex and can be adjusted for sensitivity. </li></ul><div><strong>Proximity:</strong></div><ul><li>Students can have activated a proximity switch by moving body part over a sensor with no touch or pressure.</li></ul><div> </div><div><strong>Infrared</strong>: </div><ul><li>This switch is activated when an infrared beam is broken, such as by an eye blink  </li></ul><div><strong> </strong></div><div><strong>Bluetooth: </strong></div><ul><li>These plate switches connect wirelessly to mobile device as well as computers.</li></ul><div><strong>iPad:</strong> </div><ul><li>The entire iPad can act as a single a switch when a setting under Accessibility setting is selected. </li></ul><div> <br><br></div>]]></description>

Trackball: remains in one place fits in the palm of your hand.<br><br>5. Adaptive joystick: special handles to accommodate different grasping abilities, keyboards to prevent accidental clicking.<br><br>6. Eye-gaze systems: track the movements of students eyes to direct the mouse pointer.  It is used to determine where a student is looking and then position the mouse pointer at that spot.</div>]]></description>
