The novel Akata Witch describes the cities as poor cities and they also describe one of the characters houses as a kind of a poor house because they sit on books and when it rains they use the books for the rain to not be able to wet their house. The writer also sometimes describes the people in Africa as poor and she says that people most of the times don't wear shoes. some of the sport that they play in this book are soccer. The theme of this book is adventure; the theme is adventure because Sunny and her friends are always going on adventures around Africa trying to learn about their special powers.

The poem Mama Africa describes the features that Africa has and describes how beautiful and wonder Africa is. Why this poem might matter to me is because it talks about the different features that Africa has and it might help me with the things that I have to do for cultural exchange project. The reason why this poem might matter to the people around me is because they can know the beautiful features that this author of this poem is describing in the poem. The reason why this poem might matter to the world is that people can realize the beauties of Africa and not just say that people in africa are poor.

What I learned about my world region is that in Sierra Leone there are a lot of things happening like Mudslides and people getting missing because of them and some dying. What i also learned in one of the articles is that when people are sick with a very dangerous illness they don't want to be left alone and they prefer to be with someone. The things that I learned from the research that I did matter to me because I know how it is to feel they way the people are feeling with the things happening to them since there is quotes from people who have gone through this. the reason why the things that I research matter to the people around me is because they might be interested in them and they are going to want to do like a fundraiser to help them get over all the bad things that are happening to them. What the research that I did matter to the world is that they could help people in Sierra Leone with the damage that they had, and they can't just help Sierra Leone they can also help other people who have gone through hurricanes.

What my story says about people is that the people there like to have fun and can make friends and they all respect each other. This story might matter to me because it is the first story that I have ever written and it is about my World Region which is Africa. The reason why this story might matter to the people around me and to the world is because, they can read it and realize that African people are not always sad, but that they can also have fun and meet new people.

The knowledge that I gained about after interviewing this person was why a lot of people are leaving their country behind and what causes all of this. In this Interview I learned more about the countries culture; I know that their food is similar to the Indian food. In this interview I also learned that Africans are leaving their country because there is a lot of wars going on around them making them leave their country for a better place to be in.
He also told me that when it comes to traditions they are very religious with them. For example they do this 90 days celebration were they celebrate/ remember a person who has died recently. I learned that a lot of people are seeking for a better life, because of the way that their surrounding is. In Africa theirs a lot of hotness and dryness. The person who I also interviewed told me that on of the things that he remembers a lot when he used to live there is that he remembered walking a lot with his dad in the hot weather that Africa has.

What the book a long way gone says about my world region is that theirs a lot of wars going on in Africa when he was a 14 year old. What I learned about the food in my world region is that there i a lot of vegetation there because the author there talk about him trying to get coconuts down from a tall tree when he was starving from hunger for days'; he also talked about the kind of clothes that he was wearing usually thought out the book which was some shots and a t-shirt since most of the time he spend it running away from home and the rebels and not being able to change his clothes, he also talked about sometimes wearing shoes to run and not hurt his feet when he was running away from the rebels, and sometimes not having shoes at all. His everyday life was running ad getting to a save village so that the reels couldn't kill him.; he also talked about playing soccer and since they didn't have anything with them they made a soccer ball out of their shirts so that they could spend some time playing while they spend about 1 week in every village; he also talked about the weather being too hot and him sweating a lot. A lot of times he felt sad because these rebel that are trying to kill them separated their families while running for heir lives and sometimes leaving them with out any family left. This book matter to me because I no now how fortunate I am to having my family with me and being safe; it might matter to people around me and the world because they could appreciate what they have and help other in need.

Reading Myths, Legends, and Folktales

Where our folktale was from was West Africa Ghana. Our folktale was about a spider named anansi and he had six and each of his sons had a gift. One day Anansi the spider got in trouble and all of his sons rescued him, later he found a shiny white ball and h wanted to give it to ones of his sons for helping him but he couldn't decide which one since all of them helped him so he talked to the god of the sky Nyame and he got tired from all of his sons arguing that they should get it so he just put it on the sky and named it the moon and told them that it was for everyone. The theme of our Folktale is to not b greedy because the reason why he got into trouble was because he was being greedy and got into some trouble with bigger and stronger animals than him

My thoughts on the creation of this project is that it was not that hard of a project, especially because we had the option to print out some of the characters and not worry about drawing them. Some of the cultural aspects that I presented in my transformation project was by including some of the landscapes from Ghana. How the class reacted to my project was that they liked it ans it was very interesting what happened to anasi and how they rescued him. Some of the strength in completing this project was that we already had everything plan out and we had the character ready and we had a digital camera which made the video more clear than a phone camera, some of the weaknesses was the editing part of the video; since it was my first time editing a video. The reason why this folktale matter to me is because it thought me a lesson in what not to do to run into some trouble. Why this folktale matter to the people around me and the world is because they might also learn to not do anything that might get them in trouble.

The book also talks about how African Americans were treated and what they had to do in their daily life. The book also talked about the things that the African American Immigrants had to do in seperate rooms because they were not allowed to use the same things as the whites. The reason why this book matter to me is because it tells me the situations that the African American went though.

My experience on creating a website is that it wasn't that hard to insert things that I had to insert but it was hard for me to make it visible so that everyone could see it. but overall it was nice creating a website especially because it wasn't that hard like i thought it would be. I did like creating the website because i got to experience creating a website when i've never had. Yes I did think that my website is captivating and and successful in analyzing my novel because I did do all fo the things that I had to do and I tried to make it look captivating as possible. Why might this book matter to me is because I read about a pair of siblings that they had to risk their own life to see once again their family members that were on the other side of the border that separated them. Why might this book matter to the people around me and the world is because they get to see what it is like to cross the border and know that it is not easy to do and that it takes time for someone to follow and get tot their dream.

My experience in reading this book is that I really enjoyed reading this book because it taught me a lot of things that happened to
frida but yet she still kept on going, and she didn't let anyone or anything get her down. Me reading this book was life changing because it taught me how much we are lucky to life live with not that much of problems. I did like reading this book because in the book there was every single little detail of Frida's life. The reason why this book might matter to me is because there is a lot of things that Frida went through and she still kept on going, and it gave me a lesson of when I have problems I can still keep on going no matter how hard the situation is. How this book might matter to the people around me and the people around the world is that they can think about everything that has happened to Frida and thing about how they can get out of any situation that there in just like Frida did when she was at her worst.

Planning, Producing, and Presenting the Cultural Exchange Project

What I liked about Planning Producing, and Presenting the Cultural Exchange Project is that we had to plan, produce and present it by ourselves, we had to do all of the things like if it was a real party that we were hosting. We had to invite our own guest, we had to think about what we were going to do during the presentation, and how we were going to decorate. Somethings that I learned about the myself, my group, the community, and the world, is that as a group we did really good in doing teamwork after and during the presentation, as myself is that I can definitely manage to do somethings on my own. As the community that it was nerve wracking to talk to people that you don't know but once you do it feels different. How I felt about my project after is that we weren't going to have a nice presentation that it was just going to be boring, but after the project was done I felt a more convinced that we did good and that it wasn't boring at all, it was actually interesting, and fun. At the beginning of the presentation I was nervous because the thought that I had to present to seniors made me nervous but then at the end, I wasn't because I had family and friends who supported me on this. I was definitely proud of myself and my group because we did a nice fun, interesting Cultural Exchange Project. Even though I changed from my World Region by the end of the school year I feel like I did learned a lot from this World Region because of the books that I read, it made me see how Mexico really is. Something I would do differently if I could start all over again is to use more work time properly.
The reason why this Cultural Exchange Project matter to me is because It was really important to me in this school year. The reasons why it might matter to the people around me and the world is because they can get to know more about Mexico and so did I.
