Italy is famous for it's timeless architecture, historical and religious significance, and of course its western culture and cuisine. Hot spots for tourists would include The Vatican, the Colosseum, the Tower of Pisa, the Sistine Chapel, and many more. My personal favorite would be the Borghese Gallery located in Rome. This museum has some of my favorite sculptures including the famous Apollo and Daphne by Gian Lorenzo Bernini. And that's only one of the countless baroque and renaissance sculptures housed there.

Italy experiences a temperate climatic zone. The winters are cool and wet, and the summers are hot and dry. Winters are usually cool and humid in the North coming from the northern European countries, but the coast remains warm from high sea temperatures. Italy sometimes experiences a mistral, which is a cold wind that blows through the valleys of France and into Italy and often brings a light snow. In the Summer, southern Italy can be very hot ranging from 82 - 91 degrees Fahrenheit. Thunderstorms are common. It is recommended that you pack light T-Shirts and cotton clothes for summer months and warmer clothes for the winter.

In 2019, it was reported that several cities in Italy exceeded it's air pollution limits. An environmental group by the name of Legambiente stated that 2019 was a "black year for air quality with 26 urban centers exceeding limits for both particulate matter (PM10) and ground-level ozone (O3)". WHO states that the health impact from air pollution huge: "8220 deaths a year, on average, are attributable to PM10 concentrations above 20 mg/m3. This corresponds to 9% of the mortality for all causes (excluding accidents) in the population over 30 years of age. The impact on short-term mortality is 1372 deaths, or 1.5% of the total mortality in the whole population. Hospital admissions attributable to PM10 are of a similar magnitude."
