Firstly, as a Computer Science student, I truly enjoyed the lecture as the concepts discussed was useful for me and my future projects. I am now fully interested in 3D printing and how I can use it to elevate the different technology I want to create.

More than that, it was a joy to relive childhood as we played the traditional cultural games, but I was personally fond of the henna as it was something I had an interest in prior to UM AUN.

Today was honestly so much fun, I don’t even know where to start! Should I talk about the moment Prof kept bringing up my future as a lawyer (apparently it’s the perfect example of being a changemaker 👩🏻‍⚖️✨😭), or when I managed to answer the quiz correctly about the speaker’s name? only answer i knee😛 Then came the game session, probably the highlight! I went up against Eca, and since we’re both law students, we made it super competitive, representing IIUM Malaysia and Airlangga University from Indonesia. And guess what? I came out as the winner! 🥸💃

After that, the vibes kept getting better. We moved on to the batik activity, and unexpectedly there was a mentor–student session. One of the delegates, who was really talented at painting, showed Thillo how to create beautiful gradient colors, it was so cool to learn. Then the henna session started, and I was surprised to see people actually doing designs on the upper arm. Out of nowhere, we joking around saying Gali open a “tattoo shop,” and his first “clients” ended up being me and Rafi. 😂

PLEASE tell me you guys love today’s wheater cus i do

Reflection

My most eye-opening experience was the lectures at the makerspace, a place where people gather to share knowledge and create things together. At first, I wasn’t very interested in programming or scientific knowledge, but the professors’ talks inspired me to learn more, since these fields support our daily lives. I realized that with creativity, AI, and curiosity, there is almost nothing we cannot do. We can even teach ourselves before asking others for help. These lectures reminded me of the importance of questioning.

Emoji

💻🥽✨

Wow, what a day! We started by learning all about makerspace, which is so cooll! I am so happy and learn a lot about technology todayy!!💡 It’s all about working together and collaborated to solve real-world problems with smart, sustainable ideas. Thats my first time learn about 3D Printer and also about Brain Processor 🌍💻

After that, the day turned into a creative playground! I had a blast playing traditional games like bulu ayam and congklak. They were so much fun and such a great way to bond with everyone. 😄🤝

But the absolute best part was getting to make some art! We all worked together to create beautiful batik 🎨 and then learned how to do stunning henna designs on our hands. ✨ My henna turned out so pretty! I’m so happy with it! 🥰

Today was the perfect mix of learning, teamwork, and art. I loved every second of it! ❤️btw I am Fitri from Indonesia and Group 10.

Today was another eye-opening day, as I got the chance to learn more about the Makerspace through insightful lectures! It was a new learning experience for me as I have zero interest of 3D painting before. The highlight of the day came after lunch when we explored Malaysian culture through a variety of traditional games and activities. We played congklak, pick-up sticks, and several other games. We also had the chance to try batik painting and henna, which allowed us to express our creativity in different ways. It was fascinating to see everyone’s end result, reflecting our differences!

On top of that, I felt really sleepy. In the afternoon, things got much better because we had some fun activities. My favorite one was painting with watercolors, and I felt very happy and relaxed while doing it. Sadly, I missed the traditional games because I had a university meeting and exams, but painting truly made my day.

Today was such a blast! What really got me excited was learning how a makerspace works. I love the idea of a space where students from various fields come together, share ideas, and solve the community problems. And when you add AI into the mix, the possibilities for innovation just blow my mind. I also love how the professor kept pushing us to think outside the box, even though not all of us are from science backgrounds. The morning session honestly eye opening, I just see that collaboration and innovation could be this interesting for coming up with solutions. It showed me that tech and AI can actually help us work smarter. Then, the afternoon session was totally different but just as fun. We chilled, laughed, and got creative with cultural activities. Everyone was so into it, especially during the Henna session, you can see the excitement on everyone’s faces. It was such a cool and fun way to experience Malay culture.

🥰💡🎨

Kil, part of team ASEANINJAS!

The two professors with deep experience share the entire session that made me very motivated to bring to my home university the innovative ideas and creative concepts for resolving problems.
The lunch break was enjoyable time. I really like the food today and the dessert. During lunch my other countries friends and I share with each other about culture and religious beliefs. That's a very interesting topic to know more about our ASEAN individual state culture.
At the afternoon session, the really nice activities are the traditional games and paintings. It's really good to have fun together and make more memories during the painting in our group especially with our buddies. I can't wait to see and gain more experiences and memories on day five of the summer camp.
Thank you 🥰🥰🩷

Hellaur! It’s Eca, I decided to do my padlet early today because I feel like I’d pass out as soon as I got back to the hotel. We had just finished walking around Alor Street and ate at a Chinese Muslim Restaurant (THE NOODLES ARE SO GOOD!!!) and are currently on the bus. I really enjoyed today because it was sooo fun and relaxed. We visited Makerspace in the morning and on the afternoon we did a few traditional games which is really fun! I played the kicking game (I forgot the name) and we made a big circle and I laughed so much.

I played congkak too with Fia AND I LOST… but it’s okay because at the end it was an even game hihi. We also painted batik on a canvas and I really enjoyed that but the activity after was better cause it’s HENNAAA (I got 3 hehe). After we got back, a few Indonesian students went on a few trips and I decided to go to Alor Street with Gemma, Nafi, Rafi, and Galih and we had SOOO MUCH FUN AND LAUGHED SO MUCH AND SO HARD (I swear if people can understand what we’re saying they would think we’re insane). I had so much fun today and I can’t wait to pass out on my bed after this.

Today is a solid 9.5/10 (-0.5 cause I had to run so fast for the bus that we thought would come in 3 minutes but later on came after 20 minutes of waiting)

HOPE FOR A GREATER TOMORROW!!!!

Today, we started the morning with two lectures at the Makerspace in UM about innovative and sustainable maker culture. The coolest part was seeing a real 3D printer in action and I even got a little souvenir to bring back. After lunch, things got really hands-on with traditional Malaysian games, henna, and batik painting. My energy is nowhere to be found now but definitely worth it 🥰💻🫶🏻

I liked the session in 3d printing I hope I can practice it in the future. I know we have tools like that in our university as well!

In the afternoon session, I am happy to play games I felt like a kid😆 Even we have the same game (sungka in the Philippines) I tried it here for the first time and I beat Aqila with just one marble hahahaha. I also love doing the batik painting it is so easy to make. I will buy these materials too and let my cousins try it as well! My henna also turned pretty good :>>

It was so cool to see how the designs popped out and looked so real like art meeting technology right in front of us. Then, I played congklak and won a match against Najwa 😆👏, which made it even more exciting! To wrap things up, we did batik painting 🎨. Mixing colors and creating patterns felt really calming and creative, and I loved experiencing this traditional art form in such a hands on way. Overall, the whole day was a perfect combo of modern creativity, traditional games, and cultural art 💫.

In the afternoon, we had a cultural exchange with exciting activities like shuttlecock kicking, batik painting, and tattoos. And perhaps the tattoo here is something I will never forget. And a little bit about the batik painting, when I didn't know how to paint, by instinct I combined the colors according to the feelings I had about the rhythm of life and the green environment here. It was truly meaningful and colorful.☘️🛍🔥

I had so much pleasure when I did day 4 of UM-AUN Summer Camp. The program made my day because I got to experience something totally new and exciting. The first activity was a session about 3D printing and sustainability. Honestly, the topic itself was super interesting for me because it was my very first time learning about design things and how printing technology can actually connect with sustainability issues. But to be really honest… during the session I felt soooo sleepy wkwkwk. My eyes were heavy, and I didn’t pay full attention. Still, I was glad because at least I got a glimpse of something new that could be useful for the future.

The second activity was cultural games, and oh my God, that was sooo fun! We played several traditional games and even created a brand-new one. We used bekel, but instead of playing it normally, we tried to throw it and make it land inside a pocket. Everyone laughed so hard, and it felt like I was a kid again. The energy was just amazing.

And finally, the highlight of the day for me was making Henna. I was soooo happy during this part because it felt super special. I even got a Henna tattoo on my hand with the words. It looked so pretty, and it honestly made me smile the whole evening. I kept looking at my hand because it felt like a small but meaningful memory from this camp.

Today was a mix of sleepiness, fun, and happiness, but overall it made me grateful to be here and to try new things every single day.

Moreover, 3-D printing products were so cute 💡

In the afternoon, I enjoyed traditional activities of Malaysia. I liked the throw-and-catch game (I don't remember its name, so sorry 🥲) and I could pass most of the levels. After that, I painted a cute flower printed on batik. I could not create a smooth gradient of colors. That was harder than I thought. Lastly, I chose a cute "tattoo" for my wrist 🎨

Thank you for all these wonderful things 🌸

Today’s theme was all about creativity and culture! 💡🌏

We started with a session on “Innovative & Sustainable Maker Culture: Empowering the Next Generation of Problem-Solvers” at the Makerspace. There, we learned about 3D painting and got to see how the 3D printing machine works—so cool to see ideas literally turn into real objects! 🖨️✨

Next, we got hands-on with batik coloring 🎨🪡, which was such a fun way to experience traditional art in Malaysia.

Then came the highlight of the afternoon, playing 4 traditional Malay games! It was sooo fun, and guess what? I even beat the Malaysians at congklak 😆🙌 (proud moment!).

To wrap up the day, I printed a hyena design on my hand, and honestly… it looks so beautiful 🖤✨

Another amazing and memorable day—each one just keeps getting better! 💕

Exciting and fun, get to mingle around with everyone from the program during the cultural session. Playing the traditional game was my favorite part of the day. Get to know that i have zero skill in kicking and quite talented in the stick game. Batu seremban turned into Batu international with our own shift to the way of playing the game. Had soo much fun.

Your dearest 💓

thiilothiinii

Today was a pretty tiring day, we attended a 3d printing course all morning and visited the operating process, I also quickly picked up a 3d printed item 😋😋, in the afternoon we participated in an exchange about traditional games of different countries, it's been a long time since I played shuttlecock and it was quite tiring. After that we colored some flowers with paint and finally got Malaysian style tattoos, I also got myself some pretty nice ones on my arms.

Super fun!!

Today I learned so much about UM’s Makerspace initiative, and I’m honestly impressed with how they encourage and equip students to become true innovators. The lecture on 3D printing had me super excited. It’s something I usually only stumble upon while scrolling through social media, but today I actually got to watch it happen live right in front of me.

And that was just the first half of the day! The second half was all about play and creativity: trying out Malaysian board games (and realizing they have fun counterparts in our own countries), painting batik, and even doing henna. It was the perfect way to slow down, recharge, and channel creativity in the most hands-on way possible.

Maker of memories and messy batiks,

Julianna Marionne Santos 👩‍🎨🎨

Day 4 started off on such a vibrant note 🌟—we kicked off the morning in a space full of ideas, where collaboration across different educational backgrounds really turned simple thoughts into meaningful innovation. It was inspiring to see how diverse perspectives could blend so well.

The afternoon carried the same energy with traditional games, which I absolutely loved since it’s been ages since I last played them! To top it off, the batik painting session was so calming—it felt almost therapeutic, giving us a quiet creative moment after such an active day. Truly a day full of color, energy, and balance. 🎨✨
