Covid spread all around the world killing a total of 350,000 people worldwide just in 2020, and since people were not fully aware of coronavirus, people did not take caution resulting in COVID spreading all the way to the US, during december 20 - January 19, 2020

COVID-19, also known as coronavirus, originated in Wuhan, China, In late 2019. Some scientists believe it likely jumped from animals to humans from a supermarket. By Early 2020, COVID-19 had reached every continent leading the World Health Organization to declare it a global pandemic. 800,000 infections, and 40,000 deaths just by March. The virus spreads through the respiratory droplets when people cough, sneeze, or talk, making it easy to transmit from person to person. Despite all the measures made and taken, the virus continues to affect and hit communities worldwide.

Some terms that got familiar during the COVID pandemic were lockdown and quarantine. Lockdown requires individuals to stay at home, and mandates the closure of schools and any large group gatherings/religious buildings. If it wasn’t necessary, going out wasn't really allowed. Quarantine was a procedure when one person stays away from the other due to exposed virus/if they have COVID. It goes along with social distancing, staying 6 feet away from others at all times. By minimizing the amount of close contact we have, we reduce our chances of catching the virus and spreading it. Covid didn't just impact humans, it impacted everything. As all the types of social, economic, industrial, and urbanization activity shut off, nature took its time to show improvement in the cleaner air, cleaner waters, less noise, and undisturbed and calm wildlife. 

An introduction to a groundbreaking discovery was made, a potential cure for COVID-19. Feelings of hope and relief were given to millions worldwide. The U.S Food and Drug Administration approved the first COVID-19 vaccine in early December 2020. The vaccine was named Pfizer-BioNTech and at first was only allowed to individuals ages 16 or older, then in May 2021, the authorization expanded to include ages 12-15. Later in January of 2021, a new and improved vaccine was introduced and approved by the FDA. The vaccine was named Moderna/mRNA and was only allowed to individuals of the age 18 and older COVID-19 vaccines have undergone-and will undergo-the most intensive safety monitoring the U.S has ever seen. Each COVID-19 vaccine causes the immune system to create antibodies which fight the virus. People who are up to date on their vaccines have lower risks of severe illness, hospitalization, and death from COVID. Those who are unvaccinated or haven't completed the doses, the CDC recommends them to.

Forcing governments to implement quarantine and lockdowns to slow the spread, causing economic hardships, and disrupting daily life. However, the distribution of vaccines has provided a hope for a return of a normal lifestyle, paving the way for a safer and healthier future, while offering protection against the virus. Following the devastating attack, Congress declared war on Japan, bringing America officially into World War II. All of the Pearl Harbor battleships saved were  the USS Arizona, the USS Oklahoma, and the USS Utah, that were later raised, rebuilt, and put back into service during the war.The Japanese, meanwhile, sought to complete what they began at Pearl Harbor. They aimed to destroy the USA's aircraft carrier fleet in a victory so decisive that the United States would negotiate for peace. This event in history marked a significant change in the US defense at Pearl Harbor and Hawaii.  

The Japanese occupation over the Indochinese land blocked all the trade routes of the US to Asia. While the U.S. had put embargoes on Japan in the past, in 1941 it completely froze all the trade with Japan. This aggression launched major diplomatic negotiations between Japan and the United States. They stopped trading with Japan, and started providing financial aid and support to China. Japan was not happy with the result, so they planned an attack on Pearl Harbor, so that they could also take control in the Pacific and block the US navy ships by entering Asia.This reason was the major spark in leading to an historic war in USA’s history.

According to the Japanese plan their aircraft carriers launched their airplanes early on a sunday morning. US forces were completely unprepared, and in less than ninety minutes, Japanese planes destroyed or damaged 19 US warships and 300 aircraft, and killed over 2,400 US servicemen.The Pearl Harbor attack plan had two immediate goals; the destruction of American aircraft carriers known to frequent the area, and the sinking of as many other capital ships as possible, especially battleships. This sudden truculence attack on Pearl Harbor didn’t make the US happy.  

The attack turned US public opinion in favor of entering the Second World War. The United States declared war on Japan on December 8, 1941. Japan's allies, Germany and Italy, declared war on the United States on December 11. The United States responded in kind, and therefore entered World War II.

While Japan’s deadly assault on Pearl Harbor stunned Americans, its roots stretched back more than four decades. As Japan industrialized during the late 19th century, it sought to imitate Western countries such as the United States, which had established colonies in Asia and the Pacific to secure natural resources and markets for their goods. Japan’s process of imperial expansion, however, put it on a collision course with the United States, particularly in relation to China.
